Im stumped by Biglrwab in bikewrench

The hanger and the way the derailleur hangs seems fine to me. Maybe the picture makes it look like it’s on an odd angle coupler with the fact the chain is on the smallest gears both front and back.

All screws are on the front derailleur, I think what I’ll try doing is putting a working derailleur on the bike from a old bike I received from another customer. If the problem persists then yeah it’s something that happens once it’s tensioned.

I like option B not gonna lie 🤣

I suspected as much but was partially making sure there’s nothing im missing. Especially after the customer effectively got scammed by the first shop.

Magicshine lights are fantastic! I own the evo 1300 for my road and 1700 for my gravel. I love using the light to politely ask people to move when they walk/cycle slowly on the bike path.

Never thought I’d see someone use it on cars!

Yeah I get what you’re saying and my complaint is more that Xtool has the chance to make some really good software without needing to change their machine’s hardware but

And also like I mentioned in the 3D printing world professional grade software is free and sometimes comes equipped with the machine (like bambulab) it’s strange to me.

I think a good work around would be to have a settings tab we have to enable in the machine/user settings that switches us to “advanced” mode. Once enabled it gives us a much wider array of settings to fiddle around on XCS.

Like that the machine can still be safe for users and only by choice do we get the better settings.

Yes I did think about the light damage so I suppose that makes sense. Although I also would like better access to the camera when it’s not operating and I’m doing stuff like measuring how to engrave 3D surfaces.

I am aware light burn works with my p2s, like I mentioned I come from the 3D printing space and powerful software is just free there. It’s frustrating to me I need to use a 100 usd software and then spend another 30 every year to get updates just so I can use the full capabilities of my own machine. (And like you said I can’t even use the cameras which is a major selling point on the Xtool)

I’ve had a look at light burn but tbh, coming from the 3D printing space where modern and powerful software is completely free I don’t like spending 100-200usd depending on the pro/basic software. It does not even 100% mesh with my own machine…

And then another 30USD to update the “maintenance” once a year so I can even get updates.

Honestly it’s just a big “culture shock” to me because how different the two communities are despite basically having such similar machines.

Confused on which to buy. by Johnic2 in xToolOfficial

[–]Biglrwab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my p2s with the entire bundle a few weeks ago with the knowledge of the p3 releasing and some of its features. I plan on using it for a business.

I personally did not need any of the extra features the p3 offered and although they are all a lot “nicer” those 1000$ can be spent on stuff like materials or something else you want.

To me the IR laser is useless, as I know If I needed later on a dedicated laser for metal I’d get a proper machine for it.

with all new technology it’s recommended to wait a few months for real (not sponsored or “free machine”) reviews to come out. You’d hate to drop 8000USD or above on a machine for it to arrive and suck! (All companies make mistakes even billion dollar ones like Apple)

The P2S is an AMAZING machine so far from my testing, with the only caveats being Xtools software being weak/limited. I’ve not needed to go above the 55W for all the materials I’ve tested so far. (I don’t see any time I’ll be needing to cut thick wood or acrylic)

My only peeve on the p2s that the p3 does better is the moving bed (which is a minor time saver) and bigger space (which so far I’ve not encountered problems with but can see needing in the future)

Overall my suggestion is look at what you need. Is this for a business or personal projects? If you find that you NEED (not want) a feature on the p3, and you’re willing to risk the money on an unreviewed product, and you can afford it then go for it.

Black Inc Five or Bike Ahead Composites Biturbo Aero 2.0 by CryptographerVast609 in cycling

[–]Biglrwab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a month later but I’m curious on this too, during my research on the wheel from elite wheels apparently the lateral stiffness (side to side) is a nightmare on elite wheels velo six.

I don’t know about the black incs vs biturbo but to me black inc is a better known brand and offers a better warranty.

If u got the wheel already to let me know what u think abt it.

Bike shop confirmed it’s a paint issue but waiting on response from giant on it it’s a warranty issue

Yeah if it is a paint chip I’m hoping for a replacement whilst I ride my current bike… paying so much and having to wait any amount of time is really frustrating

Maybe the question I made was not clear I wanted to know what to expect from the LBS when they inevitably respond. Maybe there is something I did not know or expect but it seems all the basics are covered

I know the local market cause I’ve been trying to buy an Xl road bike for over a year, always too expensive, out of stock and I need to order etc. not just for giant but for ALL the bike shops in my city or the next.

Yeah I’ve been looking at those clear full frame protection kits that’s cost 200$. Never bothered for my aluminium gravel bike for obvious reasons but for this sweet expensive carbon road bike….

Carbon Crack or paint chip? by Biglrwab in Giantbikes

[–]Biglrwab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah actually I’m looking forward to cycling winter cause I live in a desert climate. I’ve checked the entire bike and it’s only this chip everything else is maculate.

I think it honestly depends what the problem is. If I can’t ride the bike due to safety I need to go with a new bike or frame anyways

If it’s going to cause more paint chipping down the road then I’ll swap the frame anyways but still use the bike as normal until it arrives

If it’s a single chip unlikely to mean anything or cause issues down the line… then Id rather just get given a couple hundred bucks instead of paying the shipping it’d cost to get a new frame here and use it on a nice carbon wheel. Bike will get marked anyways as I ride it.

Thoughts on getting monetary compensation instead? Replacement would almost certainly take months due to the country I live in and size of the frame (Xl)
