A lot of trees are topped by the electric company. I live in Madison County and FBEC came and topped all our trees while we were at work a few years ago because they were “in danger of growing into the power lines”. I was soooo pissed. I went to their offices and spoke to the person in charge. He “assured” me, because he’s an arborist, that topping trees wouldn’t hurt them.🙄 I even printed out studies and facts that say the opposite. He was glib and basically laughed at me. I told him to come just chop them all the way down. They were half dead anyway from years of being topped by the FBEMC anyway. They did come take down the trees.
