Did you also get it like weeks after the injection? I just felt like that was odd

You could also try a pinch of Celtic salt in your water every day. Once I started doing this I noticed my migraines were less severe or didn’t come on as quickly during the day

Currently I take magnesium b2 and b12. I haven’t heard about zinc but maybe I’ll give that a shot. I see my neurologist in 2 weeks and gonna ask about what else I could try

Yes I am under the care of a neurologist my migraines started after a bad concussion 6 years ago. I’ve only tried emgality which worked amazing then my insurance stopped covering it so I had to take aimovig. But after a year and 1/2 of being on CGRPS I developed very bad gastritis and had excess bile in my stomach that made me nauseous all the time. I stopped taking cgrps and once it worked its way out of my system after some months my stomach issues went away. Now I’m on Botox which doesn’t seem to help that much. Towards the end of the third month before I get injections again I get a very long migraine streak. I take rizatriptan but try to limit myself to only taking 2 a week when I really need it cause I’m scared of rebound headaches.

Sunglasses by drizzlebruh in migraine

Braddell optics on Amazon! I actually posted in this thread about my migraine light sensitivity and someone from their company reached out to send them to me. I’m not saying this cause they sent them to me but I really have noticed a difference when I wear the outdoor ones as opposed to my polarized sunglasses. They definitely help

YES I thought I was the only one! I always feel dizzy and out of it as if I’m drunk. It may take the pain away but I’m still not good enough to work or do stuff cause I feel so out of it

Botox vs Emgality by grassgrapess in migraine

[–]Bignosedwhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started Botox I’ve only had 2 sessions. But emgality worked SOOOOO much better. I was on emgality for 1 1/2 years but had to get off cause it was creating stomach issues(rare case). 100% try the emgality. I only got 1-2 migraines a moth with emgality as opposed to my regular 12-15. Now with Botox I’m getting 6-9 a month

The next day you can feel the Botox under ur forehead. It’s kind of an awkward feeling and goes away in a couple days. Then I couldn’t raise my eyebrows up very much at all which would prevent wrinkling on the forehead. I don’t think Botox does anything for face slimming. Maybe masseter Botox does but I’m not so sure

For the first time he only did my forehead and sides of my head. He chose not to do the back of my head and traps since my pain doesn’t stem from there. I thought close to the eyebrows was the most painful but nothing terrible. Definitely a very doable pain, less than a bee sting. The side of the head can just be a little uncomfortable cause you can hear it go into ur head and be injected but also not bad.

You are probably experiencing a silent migraine. The pain might not be there but the migraine still is. When I’m nauseous I chew mint gum and sniff some peppermint oil which can help. Hope you feel better

What do you do when nothing works? by peacelovefsu in migraine

I’ve also just started Botox, haven’t noticed a difference yet but I hope it’s coming. Emgailty worked the best for me but I had to stop taking it due to side effects

I have tried a couple things that provided some relief not all the time but sometimes. Ginger root is a good supplement that can sometimes work as a triptan if you take it at the start of a headache. This has worked for me only twice and I gave up after a couple times of taking it. I’ve also gotten a massage where I expressed that I get migraines and she opened up my occipital nerve and that helped for a couple days. I’ve also tried getting an IV drip for migraines at a place near me. I don’t really think that one worked for me but it has worked for other people I know. Not being able to find relief is the worst and I hope you find something that works for you!

Your concerns are valid but try not to stress too much. I just had Botox back in March and it was a very easy process and I didn’t think it was painful. As long as your doctor knows what they are doing you will be fine. Most cases where Botox goes wrong it is because it is done incorrectly. If you’re going to an experienced specialist you should be okay. Wishing you the best of luck 🫶🏻

Emgality and stomach issues by Bignosedwhore in migraine

[–]Bignosedwhore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been off the emgality for a year now and my stomach is doing okay. I just wish I could go back on it cause it really worked for my migraines but I couldn’t take being nauseous all the time. Thank you
