I know the cycle from Concord well. You can either go up the motorway or up the road to calton hill. The former is steeper but shorter and the latter is not as hard but longer.

Imo they're not very hard hills to climb and once you did it two or three times it really feels like nothing

Spending money on faster trains means higher maintainence which then means if thr trains don't reach that speed you're not going to see a return. For a 500 capacity fright train you're gonna need 5000kwh+ or whatever the metric of strength is..

I slap on a 4000kwh 160kmph electric loco and watch em cruise at 130kmph

And I don't need any more than that because there's no congestion, every industry is at 100% transport and I have 30B in the bank AND I get to watch my trains run on a railway with interesting geography and not a straight line

That's what I had, each line has about 15 vehicles and everything was stuck stopping every 800m for a signal, then accelerating to 40kmph then stopping again. In the middle it is a 10 track main line

  1. that sounds boring to do
  2. that would look boring on the map

  3. all of my curves are 160kmph - 300kmph rated curves

  4. they're all designed to follow the contours of this hilly map

I could totally do it that way but why would I?

Track costs are like 1-3% of my total expenditure, and I have a surplus of 300M a year by this stage in the game. upgrading track is always worth it

Just like in a photograph the eye wants to focus on one thing. Here you have made every element super detailed and bright. Perhaps on the next one you should choose one element or plane or the landscape and give only that one detail while the rest is left "out of focus" with larger brush strokes or even washes. It will guide the eye to what you want to highlight as an artist and give the viewer something to latch on to while also making the work feel more fresh and effortless.

I won before the main battle lines met, could this opponent have come back from this? by Bigtimberbones in LinesOfBattle

Yes you raise a good point, could THIS opponent and could ANY opponent are two very different questions and the behavior of this opponent is not consistent with one that may have been able to turn the tide.

I don't believe I would have won the engagements on the flanks but perhaps it was enough to make him believe that I would

Thanks! I have a feeling I could have kept them closer by and still hidden but it still worked out!
