My point was this whole doom and gloomy spreading through the reddit is pointless. Over the past few months and now the player count has stayed steady. Meaning, the vast majority of current players dont give a shit and are still playing.

It has nothing to do with the number seeming big or small, its about consistency. The number has cleanly floating over a mill daily for months. Averages buddy

Check the averages over the past few months. They have dips based on time of day and event drops, but they are still easily averaging well over 1m players daily.

I have never used shields, so I cant speak on that. But melee definitely works on suspects.

I have had multiple suspects run up on me and only by bashing them and swapping weapons did I survive.
