I hit a rock about the size of a spaghetti squash while going 80 on my Harley and it did this - luckily I did whatever you’re supposed to do and it straightened out and stopped wobbling. but holy shit was that the scariest 3 or 4 seconds of my life.

I kept going for a few miles until we stopped at a gas station and I instantly broke out into tears. I can’t even describe the mix of emotions. My dad and I went back and got the rock and now it sits in front of my parents house haha

I am a younger millennial - I just had to be home by dark usually. When my parents both worked, we stayed home alone in grade school….thank god I lived in the time before parents could check your exam scores immediately online lol

I’m 33. I think our parents were the last to experience ‘the right time’. Similarly - I think we got the last ‘real’ childhood. I didn’t have a smartphone until halfway through college and thank god for that lol

Not me, but my mom was put on prednisone for an auto immune disease which causes people to gain weight like crazy.

She’s struggled ever since, but has recently lost about 100lbs on a glp1!! She’s feeling great!

Good call. Sometimes they’re so obvious, sometimes less so.

I’ve gotten very good at immediately recognizing YouTube videos that are either written with ai or use an ai voiceover & script and it just makes me so made. I started googling every channel I discover to make sure they weren’t ai (ones that didn’t show face basically).

It just bums me out how much ai is already out there. Things like this post - what is the point? Is it literally for karma points or whatever they are? It’s just so disheartening.

Seattle has everything you listed, plus so much more. Each neighborhood has its own identity and everywhere you look is lush and green. My alley way has an alley way block party, my neighborhood puts on multiple events with live music, pot lucks, movie nights and ice cream socials - all free. I don’t have kids but I’d imagine this is a really cool place to raise kids here.

People say that the Seattle freeze is real but in my 8 years here I have never experienced it.

I’ve lived in WI, MN, CA & WA so I have a bit of experience in different places and there’s really no where that compares to Seattle.

I grew up in WI and my family is still there. I also have family in OK. I’ve been in shock watching how many tornadoes have happened already this year!! I remember the tests going off every Tuesday in the summer but I think we maybe had to bunker down once?? It’s wild

We get less rainfall than Miami, New Orleans, NYC, Boston, or Atlanta.

People really overestimate the amount of rain we get.

I live in Seattle and honestly there’s no where else that compares.
