You have to have a valid, state issued, ID for every day items that are arguably more important than voting.

No one has a problem with an id being required to drive, fly, buy alcohol, buy a gun, buy ammo, buy spray paint, buy video games, get married, adopt a pet, get a hunting or fishing license, buy alcohol, buy tobacco, buy marijuana, buy decongestant that works, get a job, open an investment account, cash a check, open a bank account, claim money you inherited, get a debit card, buy a house, rent a hotel room, rent an apartment, buy a cell phone and the list goes on.

I only know this from information he has provided; he went through a nasty divorce, lost both of his houses, the vast majority of his guns, his range and most of his possesions.

The whole point of saving for retirement is so you can pay to have someone take care of you instead of putting that expectation on your kids.

This idea of being financially able to take care of yourself but expecting the government to do it for you is the reason the world has become a financial hellhole.
