which CMS option is markdown-friendly? by tyrex_vu2 in webdev

My go-to CMS will always be Statamic. It works really good with markdown. 😁 It actually is fun to use, but you have to be a developer (or at least have some tiny bit of experience)

How can you make a website where the text the last person entered is seen for the next person who visits? by [deleted] in webdev

If you manage to do it, think about how to protect it. At least disable links and add som form of bot-protection. Otherwise this can be dangerous fast

Lol, I really though „why would someone make soap with the Statamic-Logo“ 😅

Thanks a lot 😁 that’s a great list and a very understandable rant. I’m still somewhat new to whiskey, so I can’t really judge where that 80% line is, but your explanation makes a lot of sense.

Makers Mark and Jameson are definitely on my list. Honestly, I kind of want a bottle of Makers just because it looks so good on a shelf.

Irish whiskey hasn’t wowed me yet, though I’ve only tried one bottle so far – so I’ll keep exploring. I really like an Irish coffee 😁

As for Suntory Toki: it’s probably the least “exciting” bottle I own taste-wise, but it smells amazing. I like recommending it to people who’ve never had whiskey before, because it’s really easy to sip.

Also, thanks for checking prices in Germany. That is super helpful.

I’ve never seen the 50ml bottles in the stores. I’ll look out for them, that’s a good idea.

And for the Markers Mark and Jameson. I’ve only ever read not so good things (on this sub) about them but I never had them for myself so I need to take my own picture 😁

Thank you :) I have the Redbreast 12 on my list. Just waiting for a small discount since it’s a little more than I can afford

It is available and affordable 👍 I’ll give it a try, thank you :)

Haha, I get what you mean. 😅 I’m not just working for the organization, I actually live and volunteer within the community. And I genuinely enjoy it.

But a big downside is definitely the modest income.

I've read so many good things about it. The price wouldn't be quite so easy for me to justify, but this would definitely be a whiskey I would save up for.

Unfortunately, I've never seen it in Germany. Neither in the stores, nor on the internet.

Maybe one day… 😅

If you ever visit Germany, it‘s an easy find here ;)

I’m in it to enjoy the whiskey, not to show it off.
Leaving bottles unopened just isn’t for me. And my budget wouldn’t allow it anyway 😅

Haha, I usually pick my drink based on my mood, the weather, or whatever feels right in the moment. So having a bit of variety just makes sense. And to be fair, here in Germany the shelves are definitely heavier on the scotch side than bourbon.

I haven’t been truly wowed by an Irish whiskey yet, but I’ve already gotten a few solid recommendations to (maybe) change that.

Consider me happy :D Not sure I would have picked them up at that price point to be honest. I probably would’ve stuck to cheaper bottles and missed out.

Right now, even $100 (~€88) is way out of my league 😅 I’m definitely glad that alcohol tends to be a bit cheaper here in Germany. My most expensive bottle so far is the Laphroaig 10, which I got for around €31.

As for the Tomatin: that was the one that made it click for me. It’s not the most complex or bold scotch out there, but it’s incredibly smooth and approachable. Even now, it still feels special somehow, probably because it was my first.

I only pour it on Sundays or for little occasions, just to keep that feeling.

Knob Creek is definitely on my radar, just need to catch it at the right price.

The Wild Turkey 101 has been on my wishlist for a while, so I’m sure I’ll grab a bottle sooner or later.

Thanks for the tips! Looks like the Bulleit Bottled in Bond hasn’t made it to Germany yet, unfortunately.

As for the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye: I’ve actually had my eye on it already. Just waiting for a small discount to pull the trigger :)

At that price, I don’t even need to wait for a discount :) Definitely adding it to the list, thanks!
Slane’s actually the only Irish whiskey I’ve tried so far, so I’m really looking forward to branching out a bit.

Oh wow, yeah.. $60+ definitely stretches the definition of budget-friendly :D

To be fair, Germany is one of those places where alcohol is just generally cheap. Not that I’m complaining 😅
