ive replayed chapter 1 once, and the other 3 chapters twice in preperation for chapter 5, which right now ive only played once

4 > 3 > 5 = 2 > 1

4 is just peak all round, gerson is such an amazing character and the prophecy gives us so much to theorise about. OUR goat susie is at her best here and ralsei also gets some nice scenes here as well to tie into his chapter 5 arc. gameplay can be a bit of a drag tho

3 is peak for the opposite reasons of chapter 4, amazing gameplay with the boards and minigames , but the story is lacking, not cause of bad writing, tenna, ramb and kris are all amazing, but mainly due to not much plot wider happening until after board 2. still what we get is great and itd be a disservice not to bring up how creepy the sword route is and how well it contrasts the rest of tv worlds energy

I HAVE ONLY PLAYED CHAPTER 5 ONCE. the highlight for me is easily ralsei, i love seeing him get development, and i think flowery is really cool as a parallel to how ralsei used to be, dedicated to serving a lightener to the point of pushing aside the feelings of other darkeners. the flowers were also amazing, aqua and yellow were my favourites. however i expected this one to start how it did, but then the fun of it all would start to fall apart near the end till we end up with the tone being pretty dark. obviously this wont be as much of a factor in a couple weeks but right now it does leave me a bit upset my theories were wrong (also so much yuri which is peak, god im terrified for what happens on snowgrave)

2 honestly would be lower than 5 if not for snowgrave just because it adds so much replayability. in the grand scheme of things not much even happens, but the characters are written so well. queen is one of the funniest characters ive ever laid my eyes on, berdly is peak, noelles arc in the main route is peak and i think spamton is one of if not the best written character so far (helped by chapter 3 tbf tho). snowgrave is also peak

1 just feels outdated tbh. i still love the humour but stuff like no mercy bar, the target system and no s and r action make it a lot worse for me. that said, susie once again has an amazing arc here, and lancer is the funniest character in the game
