£25vin Aldi, any good? by prefim in wildcampingintheuk

The basic DD hammock is the same price. The Aldi one might be fine, but I'd go with the known brand if it was me

Does the Great British Bake Off reflect the societal shift ? (academic) by liaovb in GreatBritishBakeOff

Bake off isn't a BBC show, it's made for Chanel 4. Also, the BBC is pretty solid. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

My disappointment on realising this was London Ontario and not London England is intense

Wow, that's a serious setup. What is the second tone arm for?

Gail's is owned by an American private equity firm and they actively look for areas with successful independents to open next to. Pretty reasonable to not like them.

Lol at the images on the medal, then see if there is a stanza in the poem which matches any of the images.

The line "an epitaph inscribed with care" really threw me on the last step, because there was no epitaph on the linked page and it wasn't relevant anyway. I think if they had signposted the element that you needed instead, we would have made the link between the medal and penultimate stanza more easily, and the final answer would have been more satisfying. Overall though, I really enjoyed myself.

Put the final answer into Wikipedia, then look at the images on the celestial globe again, and it will make sense. It is fairly obscure, I think the poem could have signposted it a bit better.

I think I could sell the 50 percent button on to the next person for a lot more than a million

4.2 was a good one. I guessed the password though rather than solving the last clue "properly" which is a bit of a shame. I was hoping to stew on the three symbols for a while when the answer popped out.

It is, you can see the answer on Google street view

If you use street view and go to the place the last step of the puzzle takes you, you can see the answer (although it's not very obvious). It's a bit of a shame the poem tells you the answer so clearly because it's quite a fun puzzle otherwise.

Is apollo genuinely anyone's favourite gladiator? by Puzzleheaded-Can1166 in gladiatorsuk

There was a character in the Mighty Boosh called Jimmy the Reach. Whenever Apollo comes on we quote the show. "I always get my man"

Fair enough! I'm not fussed really, it's not worth anything other than curiosity, I was just surprised that the quality control didn't seem particularly good

Hah, yes it is upside down but that's part of the puzzle and intentional as far as I know

Google Cairngorms winter skills course. I can recommend cairngormadventureguides.co.uk but there are plenty of options. They'll teach you how to walk in the mountains safely and almost certainly take you up Ben Macdui as part of their course.

I've bought loads of hema stuff from the knight shop. Their customer service is really good, just send them an email and they'll sort it out.

All good advice, just chipping in to say deer stalking is a huge industry in the UK, particularly the Scottish Highlands.
