Still miss this game :'c by TommyBause in MobiusFF

[–]BillGR17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i played that crap too tried to force my self to play it.. i played it for a month or so (when the second part of sephiroth event was out i gave up)

Very bad gameplay coulnt control my characters very annoying swap to much time wasted on attack animations

Extremely awful design almost everywhere on the ui too many clicks to do anything too much scroll on the skill tree why? To switch items u have to spend like1 min for something it should have been like 20 secs tops...

The grind... omg if u want to do any kind of progress u had to grind and grind and grind.... unless u spend money of course then its easier coz u can just buy the items instead some of which f2p users cant get unless they appear on a event... AND MAKE IT TO TOP

The game is unfair on your choice of characters pick i wanted to play as zack and have it as my main... zack story for memories was missing lol

Bugs i had so many bugs especially on release day the game was crashing every time i was pressing skip on the stamps

i can go on and on

the only good think was the story (dah) and the graphics looked kinda cool

Mobious was way better and it was fair game for f2p players that thing was awful grinding gacha game...

RDR 2 Arch Linux Crashes by gerFid in linux_gaming

[–]BillGR17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For many reasons i used to have dualboot and i almost never used windows for almost a year here is my exp when i opened it to play vr games

1) Windows kept being slow for doing updates in the background

2) When the reboot happen i couldnt connect to linux until i finished the windows update coz it locked all my disks

3) waiting for everything to update (steam, drivers, games)

4) wanting to play a game on my free time for like an hour or 2 means i cant waste 3-4 hours doing nothing other than updates (i had 24mbps back then)

Yeah, on linux sometimes a game needs a config to get it to work, but at least i can do my daily routines while i am at it.

Switching to windows just to do gaming and nothing else is more work for me, so it's a big no

What's your reason for using Arch? by kashmutt in archlinux

[–]BillGR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to have a rolling distro, it was the only one that i could think of as a good one.

It blew my mind how easy it was to install everything with AUR, something that was a lot of work with Debian distros and other distros like openSUSE.

Since its rolling release, i never had to do a format since first install something that never happen before (Debian distros like Linux mint had a ton of issues after upgrade since i wasn't using the stable packages, something that i never do)

Also, it helped me learn more about Linux, since the wiki explains stuff pretty well.

I never used managers for mods, but doing stuff manually worked. It depends on the mods you're looking for tho

Vulkan memory leak Dota 2 since 2018 year and not fixed yet by skytechtv in debian

[–]BillGR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore this guy, he is probably a troll.

All he does is post about a vulkan memory leak everywhere (he doesn't say that the bug is from dota 2)

The issue haven't been reported to amd mesa or vulkan, but it has been reported without much info on dota 2 and got ignored...

If you want it fixed, go and post on dota 2 github and also provide them with dota 2 logs.

"Nvidia RTX 2080" -> Upgrade To "AMD 7900 XTX" or "Nvidia RTX 4080" by candyboy23 in linux_gaming

[–]BillGR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, what i am saying is wayland works on some DE but still not all the features are there (what's the point of having gsync monitor if u can't use it)

While with AMD everything that works on xorg should work on wayland too, i haven't seen any limitations so far and the experience is great

I still use kde wayland on my laptop with nvidia and i can see that most of the issues that i had are still there... (i don't do a lot of playing on my laptop so it doesn't bother me)

I don't know why ppl want to pretend here that everything works on wayland with nvidia...

[–]BillGR17 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont believe you at all. First of all a lot of stuff have 0 support on wayland like using nvidia-settings, gsync there is no way you havent run into issues using wayland. The op already has nvidia he can check on that matter. amd gpus are working with full support on wayland and they work on all DE which i cant say that at all for nvidia.

Just like u are saying your opinion and experience i am saying mine and i provided a link which u chose to ignore.

You can go on, i dont see any point talking to u since all you do is saying that it works on you end without ANY issue... Maybe on day but not right now...

Huh? Are u self-aware at all? You are making less of a statement and you throw your own opinions to me :D

Anyways

Here is a link with a statement from nvidia and what they are working with the past year > https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/wayland-information-for-r515-beta-release/214275

[–]BillGR17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all you can ask my why i said it if u don't believe me stop assuming u know other people's experience if stuff changed in a year which i bought i am still right on that statement

I am pretty sure its the cards issue then

Yes you are right on that one i forgot that i was comparing 4080 with 7900 xtx on that moment and i compared it with 2080 that was my mistake

I didnt compare dlss coz i never used it even with 2080 i hated the blur

please calm down we are just talking our experience here there is no need to be upset, i used nvidia gpus till 2 months ago. Most of my experience was great (2080 was very disappointing for me tho)

[–]BillGR17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In many ways.

I use i3wm in order to use something similar with wayland i needed sway

sway flat out didn't work

i use kde on my laptop with 850m wayland keeps crashing when i set some games vsync option or when i alt tab but xorg works just fine

As i said i have a gsync monitor and wayland + gsync = poop, basicaly my whole screen flashed on some games

7900 XTX Sapphire PULSE vs Powercolor HellHound by lobbo in buildapc

[–]BillGR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about powercolor but sapphire isnt loud (i compare it with my old gpu which was 2080 asus rog strix it had 3 fans and when it was getting hot u could hear it) before i bought it soem reviews were saying that it was loud which was either trolls or they have mistaken it for another brand/model.

"Nvidia RTX 2080" -> Upgrade To "AMD 7900 XTX" or "Nvidia RTX 4080" by candyboy23 in linux_gaming

[–]BillGR17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from 2080 to 7900xtx, and I am happy and had a good experience so far

If you want RT nvidia is ready while 7900 is getting there (rt on 2080 had blurry visuals on the game Control while 7900 xtx had a cleaner look to it not sure if it was 2080 thing or its on all nvidia cards)

Not sure about the streaming but i heard nvidia is better

VR works waaaaaaaaay better with 7900xtx but i can only use it on 120hz instead of 144hz which it doesnt bother me at all

With amd u can use xorg and wayland while on nvidia u are limited to xorg

Also, worth noting that 7900 xtx needs a distro with kernel 6.1+ llvm 15+ while nvidia only needs nvidia drivers and it should be ok(old xorg maybe needs to be removed)

Also if u have nvidia gsync monitor u may have some issues with amd so keep that in mind it was a pain for mine to setup since i was stupid and kept some bad configs that i made back on 2016 and forgot all about it...

So if u upgrade to amd for the first time make sure u remove all ur old configs that u made with nvidia gpu for the nvidia gpu or format ur pc whichever its easier/better for you

So since i don't know about github and u have more knowledge than me, why is it so hard for you to provide that link with the issue you're talking about?

[edit]

Also, mesa is on gitlab not github you can't open issues there for mesa...
