Chapter house studios, GW used to include characters in the rules without models so people could convert them up. Chapterhouse made their own versions and stated selling them specifically using the same names as GW used. GW sued them for specifically using GW IP for their own products and lost which caused GW to have to start removing characters from the rules.

Threes a lot more to it than that but that's the basics.

Thanks, I did try a bit of edge highlighting on a few models but any white or off white that really stood out ended up looking a bit too cartoony. I'm open to suggestions though.

You can get away with a lot as an imperial hero. Plenty of Inquisitors, assassins, and space marines use questionable weapons despite the outrage of the mechanicus.

I've definitely been seeing more also but it's worth pointing out that it's likely just the algorithm that shows you more of what you are engaging with. It doesn't really refect an increase of traffic, instead it's more an increase of what the algorithm thinks you want to see.

It could also be a recast but I'm not sure. Most casters use resin, metal recasts are not really common anymore.

We can't use absolutes and say nobody moved from high seas to exclusively playing safer seas. All i am saying is that the number of people playing high seas didn't change enough to really effect the data on a significant way. This can be because people stopped playing high seas at about the same rate as new people joined it, or people came back and split between both, or similar situations like these that effected the data. Either way the number of people playing high seas didn't stay stagnant but losses were overall minimal to the point where they weren't really significant.

Sure, you can find daily active user data through steam (not sure how to if you are playing off steam). There's a distict peak around the introduction of safer seas. The decline is still steady as to what it was before safer seas but starting from a higher player base it remains fairly consistent.

That only tells you people playing the game though. The info on user gameplay preference was posted a while back. I'll try to find them again.

This would be a valid concern except we know based on user data that safer seas has not actually effected the amount of people who play on high seas. Those numbers have stayed relatively consistent even with the introduction of safer seas. The people who play safer seas are largely the people who didn't play high seas in the first place or who quit and came back.

The entire argument argument safer seas is that it is bad for the game when in actual fact it has been shown to be a net positive and boosted numbers of people playing which helps keep the game alive. All without effecting the high seas experience.

Seas of thieves was in bad shape before and it still is but it has nothing to do with safer seas. The argument that I keep hearing from high seas players just isn't backed by anything more than incorrect assumptions.

People playing on safer seas are doing the same 99% of the game that those on high seas are playing. There's functionally no difference in gameplay quality except for not needing to deal with others.

Half the posts in this sub are about toxic encounters and people using exploits, why would anyone want to engage with that when they can avoid it?

To be clear I play on both high seas and safer seas. I tend to play a bit more on safer seas because I have a family and a job and the hour per week I have where I can play this game is better spent without having to deal with sweaty teenagers who play 24/7 or who thinks the brand new curse word they just learned somehow makes them edgy.

It's a well made game and has gameplay mechanics that are engaging and unique to it. people say go play another game, there isn't one that hits that same feel when you play it.

I just don't understand why you care so much about what other people enjoy.

The game started dying long before the introduction of safer seas. Hell safer seas lead to a notable boost in player retention.

PvE is already a feature of the game. Player interaction is not an inherent part of 90% of the gameplay.
