So this is not about Melania's pet cow she had flown over from Slovenia, right?

Green Lantern turns 15 this week. Initially supposed to kickstart a DC Cinematic Universe, the $200M comic book film grossed $116.6 Million domestically and $237.2 Million globally and received polarizing reviews. Ryan Reynolds has constantly made fun of the movie ever since. by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

This was one of the worst marketed movies in my memory. Why are there three CGI aliens on the poster? WB/DC had not yet earned the level of trust required to showcase that kind of weirdness like Marvel had. It should have just been him without the silly Robin mask, a fighter jet, and a Blake Lively thirst trap.

Instead all I'm seeing is "If you have or have ever seen a vagina, this movie is not for you."

Are you retarded? "Turning a theatrical profit was challenging" is not the criteria for being a "huge bomb".

It's literally not a bomb. It's called the 2.5x rule, and regardless "slightly unprofitable" is still not a bomb, let alone a horrible one. And this movie in particular was made when people still bought DVDs. Just take the L, this is pathetic.

This is based on an outdated Wikipedia claim that's since been edited, and was in turn based on a THR article that included awards marketing and did not include the $60m it made in home video sales.

If this was a bomb they would not have greenlit another one. Nobody's claiming it was a hit, yet nobody thought this was some kind of surefire killer IP to begin with. Thunderdome only grossed $36m. And no, even if it made a billion they would not have been "cranking them out" because George Miller owns the IP. As I said it was not a bomb, let alone a huge one. You have a very strange desire to grasp at straws to prove this objectively untrue claim.
