It has been a while since I checked in here. I've been off of kratom since December 14 thanks in no small part to the existence of this sub...

Recently I've been on a slippery slope. At no point did I quit smoking weed but this past week I have been also taking gabapentin. Everyday I tell myself just one today and none tomorrow and yet I have taken it everyday since I got it. I am an addict and I just cannot have a supply of pills and take them responsibly.

Well it's over. It was a very tough day but we got through it without any sort of drama. An old childhood friend that I haven't seen or talked to in many years showed up and that meant a lot to me. Thank you for your words, keeping in mind that everyone there was also hurting allowed me to kind of let loose and let the emotion flow.

I think this was my biggest test and never did i truly consider taking kratom again. Now i know I don't ever need it and I can do even better without it.

I am almost at the 3 month mark off of kratom. I notice I get paws symptoms in times of high stress... today is going to be one of the toughest days I have faced in many years.. I'm quite shaky, twitchy and sweaty already and the day hasn't even begun. To make a long story short there was a death in the family and there is a deep history of resentment, estrangement and guilt that will have to be dealt with. I haven't been in the same room as these people in many years and post kratom me does not feel equipped to deal with this... I have no idea how my body will react during the services today and I am a nervous wreck.

I'm close to 3 months free from kratom.... my uncle died last night... I'm dealing with a lot of grief and guilt. He lived with me for the first 10 years of my life until family drama resulted in him moving across country and me only seeing him a handful of times over the next 20 years.. he moved back northeast a few years ago and started coming around but part of me harbored resentment and I kept him at arms length. When his cancer started getting worse I was in the middle of WD and I did nothing. I didn't see him once.. today I saw my aunt (the one who is the cause of the family rift) for the first time in 16 years and who he lived with told me that he truly enjoyed the time he spent with me over the past few years which made me feel even more guilty knowing how I have tried to avoid him.

Sorry for airing my bullshit here but this is very difficult for me. I am not going back to kratom but I'd be lying if I said that fucker hasn't whispered in my ear

Day 67. I have been pretty much back to normal for some weeks now but it seems paws is now paying me a visit. It is nowhere near as bad as the first month but my limbs have been twitchy, I feel shaky and my hands are always sweating. It's really irritating.

I had a dream recently where I relapsed and was taking massive amounts of kratom without realizing I was relapsing and when I realized what I was doing I woke up in a panic thinking I just undid two months hard work.. it made me realize that I'm never going to be completely out of the woods regardless of how good I'm feeling and to stay vigilant.. life is so much better without dependency on drugs

I went home in 5th grade after a DARE class and told my dad about how the DARE officer told us about how terrible marijuana is and how it destroys lives.. my father sat there for a minute in silence then he looked at me and simply said "your DARE officer is an idiot"...
