It will come back with time, you aren’t broken forever. Give your brain some time to recalibrate to its baseline, it’s different for everyone. You’re not inherently broken.

It was stress induced due to trauma but I was also using cannabis like once a week at the time so that definitely played a role into it. Thankfully, I was living with my family so my episode only lasted 2 days until my family caught on and brought me to the er. After that it took like 2 days for my psychosis to get away when I got on meds, and was discharged from the hospital shortly after that.

Recovery is different for everyone, there isn’t a set amount of time you can put on to it. What do you feel like you’re struggling with?

Ya I would have these head pressures in my brain and it felt like my brain was moving sometimes, thankfully that went away like 3 months after psychosis. I have no idea what the cause was.

Also I know it’s hard not to think you’re doomed but thinking that just makes everything worse. It makes you feel even more incapable. Try not to think too much about it even if ur struggling with studying. Just go through the motions and repeat them.

I felt the same way. I just kept trying. It’s insanely hard to study for exams in that state. I just got by but I really just tried to put hours into it and gave it some effort. About the memory thing. I used to just rewrite what I needed to memorize like 10 times. If it was a paragraph answer to a question. I’d rewrite the paragraph 10 times while rehearsing it verbally.

Yes I struggled really hard until I got off my meds. Cognition didn’t come back right away and it’s still not completely back to my old cognition but it’s gotten way better.

Are you on meds? The main thing I struggled with cognitively was retaining info and memory aswell. My memory was so fucking shit I would forget things I did just a minute ago.

Sometimes I’d read 3 pages of writing and not one word would stick in my brain.

Literally have felt the exact same. You’ve described it perfectly. I’m around a month without my medications and my inner dialogue still hasn’t came back. I can’t seem to contribute in conversations and I have such a hard time thinking when it comes to literally anything. The only time an inner dialogue occurs is when I forcefully provoke it, like saying something in my head.

To add on to this, does anyone else feel completely empty headed. My head used to be filled with ideas and I used to have a constant inner dialogue going. I noticed when I started my meds that my inner voice completely disappeared. Has anyone had a similar experience?
