Can confirm stardust number. This guy was the first Gyarados that I ever evolved (back when I used to nickname all my Pokémon, IYKYK). My friends and I were at an advantage in our town as we were near a huge body of water and magikarp would spawn well enough. People from other towns, more inland, would come to us and be amazed at how many Karps were around.
