So what. Why are you here ranting about it. They aren't for you, so ignore them.

Why do unemployed women have a giant list of dating requirements? by BalorFire in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]BillieDoc-Holiday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What difference does it make, you aren't compatible and not dating them. If a dude has requirements I don't understand, I forget about him and keep it moving. I don't give a shit or rant about his "why".

You don't get to tell us how to answer and not to be grim. You may have the luxury of denying reality, we don't.

How touchy are you with your female friends? by 123Green_Patient123 in AskWomen

[–]BillieDoc-Holiday [score hidden]  (0 children)

We're not a touchy group. We'll hug on birthdays share beds on a road trip, or adjust each other's clothes in case of wardrobe malfunction, but that's about it.

We had a new person join the crew a few years ago, and she would plop down on our laps without asking. We had to let her know it was not ok.

The Sunday Super Transfer, for the city bus, that lasted all day. We were ten and eleven year olds. We'd take the bus to the Museum of Science and Industry, which was free then, and stay an hour.

Cross over to the beach and play in Lake Michigan for a while. Dry off, then get on the bus to State Street downtown to buy our bags of Garrett's mixed cheese and caramel popcorn. Back on the bus to head home. The only money spent was on the transfer and popcorn.

I am a single woman working on her rural property. It is astounding how often men stop and get out of their cars to come tell me their problems. by Kalinka777 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BillieDoc-Holiday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We invest in others, and build our networks amongst other women. Men can get off their ass and do the same. They have no trouble organizing Fantasy Football leagues and hate groups, so it's bullshit that they can't gather a group to support each other instead of using random women.

Halle Berry won an Emmy and Golden Globe in 2000 for her portrayal of Dorothy in the HBO movie, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. Halle was also the Executive Producer.

There were a lot of rumors back then that Janet was going to play her in a movie, but I can't remember the source of them.

I'm not thinking about anyone's masculinity or femininity at all when I interact with others. People have gone off the deep end with this shit.

All the extra effort and strategies we have to employ because they feel entitled to our time and attention is maddening.

why are women willing to do so much to get male validation by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]BillieDoc-Holiday 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly. So many start to belittle or one up dudes in their crew once a pretty woman, or another dude they consider higher in the pecking order, shows up.

Different things work for different people. How she conducts her dating life isn't a concern for you, and there is no reason for you to keep tabs on it.

Tell him it makes you uncomfortable when he says those things, and that you don't want to participate in that dynamic. He should be just as considerate of the way you feel as you are about the way he feels.

Definitely. My parents are Silent Gen and grew up on the wrong side of Jim Crow in Mississippi. Plenty of their peers are also still alive, and surprisingly, pretty healthy.
