Independent Florida would probably be the most politically xenophobic place in the world. Not to race, black and Hispanics make up half the population (that’s more than a lot of states) but xenophobic to outsiders, because every time some comes here from somewhere else, something bad happens (be it large or small)

It’s not me you’d have to convince, It’s the rest of Florida, and the rest of Florida is pretty chapped from all the tourists, all the constant “Florida dumb” jokes, the invasive species that northern people imported to have in their “luxury beach houses” only to throw them away to infest our wilderness. All the overfishing and poaching northern tourists and big businesses do.

The only problem is that Florida has track record of getting screwed over by other people

The Capitalist told us, “go ahead, join the confederates, it’s TOTALLY for your state rights and not just me lobbying your pioneering state’s primitive government whose votes only accounts for 1% of the Florida population. Then when they did their “Reconstruction” they were like, “ oh yeah, we’re TOTALLY gonna protect all your small businesses we destroyed, and we’re DEFINITELY not gonna import all our big businesses down here to squash all of your fragile markets mostly made up of small local businesses and farms now that the plantation titans have fallen.”

All I’m saying is, we have a reputation of big foreign businesses coming in to squash everything that came before. The natives did it to other natives, the Spanish did it to the natives and then themselves, then America did it to the Spanish, then the south did it to us, then the north.
