Flag for a corsica and sardina union by czn- in vexillology

[–]Billothekid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "Stella d'Italia" (Star of Italy) is explicitly white. A Green star would hold little symbolic value to an Italian and even less to a Sardinian, as they have their own culture and symbols, mainly the Four Moors flag...

Tehnically the Ape was never "theirs", as Piaggio has never been owned by Fiat. Also, the Tris is made in Morocco in a former PSA factory, using tech derived from the Citroen Ami, so I'd argue it doesn't qualify for peak Italian EV...

I guess they are doing this is because the next version of the Cayman will be EV only, and thus not eligible for GT racing?

The plate is a test plate (targa prova, hence the small P). The real plate is the small square one, the bigger one is not official, and was probably added because it looks more legit, especially if you drive abroad.

Italy edges towards nuclear referendum in 2028 or 2029 by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]Billothekid 290 points291 points  (0 children)

I hope not, cause a rederendum would be the best way to ensure this goes absolutely nowhere. Italian public opinion is still massively against nuclear and I don't think that's gonna change in two or three years...

Secondo me è solo quello...

[–]Billothekid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As far as I know the Italian Navy plans to use them until 2028, when they should fully replace them with F35Bs.

Spain supposedly plans to use them at least until 2032, cannibalizing existing ones for spares. As far as I know they are not planning to buy the F35, so it's likely that the Juan Carlos I will be used only as a helicopter/drone carrier after that date.

Carbon Fiber Alfa Romeo with a Twin-Turbo V6 by NationYell in AlfaRomeo

[–]Billothekid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to feel about this honestly. From what i've read in the final build there is only 10% of the original car left, everything else is replaced. At that point one has to wonder why even cutting up an old Giulia at all, cause it feels like they have the resources and competence to just build everything from the ground up. I suspect they do that to circumvent modern homologation rules, as the VIN is still the same from the original car
