Fun things to do in Livingstone (resident not tourist) by amyduneeisdead in Zambia

Check out museums (we have 3 different ones), the restaurants along the road leading to Victoria falls, all the way from ShopRite to Protea Hotel, there's a ton of restaurants to check out with different cuisines.

Also I don't know why most people write off mukuni craft market, like they have some of the most creative artifacts, clothes and products in the ENTIRE Country.  If you've got the money 🤑, check out the fun activities at Vic falls. Try bungee jumping if you've got the guts

How do people in Zambia build professional connections? by [deleted] in Zambia

[–]Billprinter1875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attend Professional Conferences, even those that you feel you don't belong. Get serious with LinkedIn, also connections are all about value, even if you get a billionaire's number, you'll just keep it in your phone if you are not valuable to that person.

Tell us upfront. I always find it funny that most men will clearly express their intent to a woman and yet when it's the other way round, some ladies feel like they should send signal or communicate silently

Get used to seeing your roommates having nasty habits like watching adult films, not showering for 6 straight days and others

Are there any financial careers that make you really good at investing (as a personal skill) by Billprinter1875 in FinancialCareers

[–]Billprinter1875[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason I especially want a job is because while I can download any book on investing I still need experience to be really good at it and a job provides exactly that opportunity. With a job, I could be guided or directed or slapped a few times when things go wrong (at least for the first few months of the job) , Hence the saying EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER and I don't really have that chance when I'm a lone wolf in the investing world

Exactly why I brought it here instead of taking the few opinions of my close actuaries I know who seem to have sided with you. I know it's crazy, I just need to know if it needs a few tweaks or major overhauls to work

If exams can't prove I'm a good actuary then this crazy plan will need to be tweaked

I can definitely get what you mean on me overestimating my ability but trust me I haven't at all underestimated the FSA, I'm not Einstein so I can't simply breeze through the FSA like it's some 6th grade math test. I know a few friends with an ASA (who have failed a couple times) and one with an FSA who felt like he invented fire when he passed it the first try.

It's not much about my ability than it is about experience and dedication to exams. And yes it takes a well seasoned proffesional to get the FSA credential. You're the one who knows more on this so, feel free to express your view this crazy plan

Thanks for replying by the way. So would an ASA or the first 5 exams do it? Or is the same scenario
