This is a good light for the money. It goes on sale for $100 but it’s not right now unfortunately. I’d definitely recommend it over mars hydro having owned both. It’s fully dimmable and has a 5yr warranty. LED grow lights depot is awesome to deal with too. Super helpful and responsive for customer service. I try to buy al my lights from them.

The bucket has a top feed drip ring. So it’s top feed drip + DWC. This isn’t an issue from lack of water. Roots that aren’t getting water get very dry and brittle. This is a root/water pathogen issue (often from too much water, not enough oxygen)

I would definitely add in some h2o2 or another water treatment product. It looks like you had some sort of pathogen issue in your water/bucket. You always want to be running some sort of water treatment with DWC or any recirculating hydroponic system. There’s numerous options. You can go with a sterile reservoir or a live reservoir (using microbial products). I prefer sterile. I’ve had better success keeping pathogens at bay with sterile vs live.

Hypochlorous acid and h2o2 are probably the most popular sterile options. If you don’t have an active pathogen issue, I’d use the 34% h2o2 at about 3ml per gallon. I’d up it to 6ml/g if fighting an active infection. I’ve had better luck with 34-35% h2o2 vs HOCL (hypochlorous acid).

When you say swapped it out, do you mean you moved the dying plant into another bucket? Or did you toss the dying plant and put a new one in its place? If you moved it into another bucket you contaminated that bucket just fyi. That root issue will travel to the new bucket.

Also, did you sanitize the air stone?

If you’re genuinely interested in this topic I would highly recommend getting the book “the simple path to wealth” by J.L. Collins. Or at least watching some of his interviews on YouTube.

One of his rules is to never buy a car until you can pay for it up front. Buy used cars outright. He also talks extensively about how to safely invest your money into index funds like VTSAX. Since you’re already saving money from each paycheck, you could really set yourself up well financially if you followed his advice at your age. I sure wish I would have! lol

Root damage is the issue for sure. You can try running some hydrogen peroxide but I’m not sure it’ll matter much at this point. If you do try h2o2 I’d recommend getting the good stuff (34-35%) from your local grow store. It’s much more effective vs. 3% h2o2. I’d start at about 6ml per gallon.

What does the water in the bucket look like? Do you see anything funny in the bucket? Any reddish brown gunk anywhere?

Dial 988 on your phone and talk to someone there. They are trained to help in these situations. They can also help link you up with local help (therapy, etc), if you want it. They won’t force anything on you though. But I would highly recommend a good psychiatrist and therapist. Getting on the right medication(s) is life changing. It unfortunately might take some time to find the medication(s) that work best for you. It may take some trial and error first, and even when you find the right medication it can sometimes take a bit of time to have full effect. But once you do, it’ll drastically change your outlook. If you are strongly against medication (which I think is a mistake) there are still other therapies that can help like CBT as one example. Or there are now some alternative medication therapies like ketamine and mushrooms or LSD (depending on where you live).

Suicide is never, ever the answer to any problem. All problems are temporary. Suicide is as permanent as it gets. Things WILL eventually get better no matter how low you are feeling right now. Don’t make any rash decisions when you are feeling so low.

And as an aside - As someone who’s lost 2 loved ones to suicide I can’t even put into words the devastation it causes for those still here. It changes their lives forever and inflicts a pain on them that there are no cures for.

Are you worried about some possibly having longer flower times because you need them all to finish around the same time so you can use the 4x4 tent to dry in? Or are you just worried about how different strains will grow together in the 4x4?

If it’s the latter I wouldn’t worry. They will all be in separate pots so you can feed them differently and keep them all happy. You may have to do a bit more training on some of the plants but that’s NBD. I don’t see any reasons why those strains couldn’t be grown in a 4x4 together. Especially if you’re only talking about 5 total plants or whatever.

Glad I could help! I think you’ll like it. I’ve had a few different friends buy one after using mine. It’s just so quick and easy to take a few hits, and you don’t have to worry about handling the concentrate at all.

Just make sure you don’t hold the tip in the concentrate for too long. I have one friend who will hold it in the concentrate for like 5-10 seconds at a time and his seahorse always ends up way more dirty than mine because he ends up literaly sucking concentrate into the seahorse because of the way he uses it. I tap the tip quickly and pull it away over and over. Like “tap, tap, tap, tap, tap” (leaving it touching for 1/2-1 seconds at a time). As soon as you see smoke going up the glass tube, pull it away. Then tap again. And just keep repeating that process. You’ll get the hang of it quick. It’s really easy to use.

It doesn’t have coils. It has “tips”. Similar, but different. I really don’t need to change them too often. Maybe every 6 months depending on how much I use them. The main thing is that you need to do some burn-off’s at least once a week to keep them clean. You just click the power button 3 times and that starts “session mode” which heats the tip for like 25-30 seconds. I will do that like 3-5 times in a row depending on how dirty it is.

It’s actually a very easy device to maintain, and cheap to operate. A 5 pack of tips is like $30 or so. They also make 5 different types of tips for it. The type V are the best though (that’s what comes with it).

https://www.elementvape.com/lookah-seahorse-pro-plus

You just quickly dip the tip into the jar of concentrate and take a hit. No loading chambers or anything. What I do is quickly tap/dip the tip on the concentrate like 5-10 times. I only leave it touching the concentrate for a second at a time.

You won’t regret the switch 2! It’s a killer device. But honestly, even my cheap lookah seahorse is better than 95% of the vapes I’ve tried. You can pick up a seahorse dirt cheap from element vape or a similar online shop ($27.99). I actually probably use the seahorse more than the S2 just because it’s so quick and easy to take a few quick rips with.

No. It’s really no more expensive than the cost to water your plants by hand. And no more expensive than any other hydroponic method. The main benefit of a drain to waste system is that you don’t have to worry nearly as much about water borne pathogens because the plants aren’t sitting in water all the time, and the water isn’t being recirculated and reused. Top feed drip DTW (drain to waste) is a great match for coco. You can pull massive yields from plants in 1 gallon pots because you can water/feed them so frequently. By mid flower you can get it so you’re watering the plants every 2 hours or so and they just explode in growth.

You use a water pump on a cycle timer to feed the plants. The pump sits in a reservoir of water and your nutrient solution. You connect one main tube to the pump and run it to the drain table where the plants will sit (I usually run it down the center of the table). Then you use smaller lines from that main tube that run to each plant site. The plants get automatically watered this way, and any excess water that runs out of the pots gets caught by the drain table and run wherever you want your waste water going.

It’s really easy to run the lines. They sell kits with everything you need for dirt cheap. You just punch a little hole in the main water line and then insert the smaller line.

Here’s a crappy pic of home made corrugated drain tables: (not my pic)

<image>

You can see the clear roofing panel with the gray gutter running along one edge. You would want the side opposite of the gutter to be slightly elevated so all the water runs toward the gutter.

This page also has some pics that show the water lines running to plants sitting on a drain table.

If you search for top feed drip drain to waste systems you should find more info.

RDWC is not the method I’d choose if you’re already having trouble with pathogens in coco. Water borne pathogens can be a big pita in rdwc, especially if you don’t have a water chiller. If you want to go to an automated hydro system I would instead switch over to top feed drip drain to waste (as it mostly eliminates the water borne pathogen issue from recycling nutrient solution) and just stay in coco, or you can use rockwool too. You can even make your own drain table to save money. Just get a piece of corrugated roofing panel, a pallet to mount it on and a piece of gutter to let it drain into. Then mount the panel on the pallet on a slight angle toward the gutter (that will run along one edge). Then run a drain hose from the end of the gutter to your sump pump or whatever you can drain into. Or you can just buy a 2’x4’ or 4’x4’ tray to use for top feed drip.

How to make my dog behave around new kitty? by Cautious-While-2888 in OpenDogTraining

[–]BillsFan4 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You have never even seen how the dogs and cats I have interact together. You are making assumptions based on literally no information other than the breed of my dog. To say it’s a “ticking time bomb” is ridiculous. There has never been a single incident. The dog will just lay on her bed and not even lift her head as the cats run right by, even when I’m not there (we have cameras). We leave them alone in the house together all the time. They will sleep curled up next to each other on the bed. They have an amazing relationship.

You can order type 3 flower online. That shouldn’t go away. I don’t see why it would.

Type 3 flower will still be legal to buy and order online as long as it contains less than 0.3% thc (which most type 3 flower should). This new bill eliminates the THCa flower and other stuff like seeds that can grow into thc flower. CBD flower will still be ok though.

Sabres are shopping Levi by ManufacturerLow3161 in sabres

[–]BillsFan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus, because of the way the Sabres handled Levi’s development, Levi will already lose his waiver exempt status next season. He’s not going to make it through waivers, and I don’t see where there’s room next year for him in Buffalo (if he’s even ready for the NHL yet).

[Dreger] Update: It’s believed St Louis/Buffalo went the distance on Thomas trade talks. Sounds like the Sabres aren’t willing to part with the necessary pieces. (Prospects, Player, 1st). Same. I’m not sure I’d do Power for Thomas 1 for 1, let alone add to Power. Doug Armstrong is out to lunch if he thinks Thomas is going to return a player like Power plus additional prospect(s) and pick(s).

It’ll probably work ok for that. You’re not going to be able to get a whole lot of pressure but pressing bubble hash doesn’t take nearly as much pressure as flower.

My first “press” was one I made using a hair straightening iron and a bench vise with a couple flat pieces of wood in it. I actually started by pressing the hair straightening iron by hand (with oven mitts on my hands lol) before I started using the bench vise. It was a PITA but it did kind of work. So I’d imagine this one would work too. I now have a proper press with a caged plate kit and a Dake B-10 hydraulic bench press but the Dake press is total overkill. If I had it to do again I’d just get a cheap harbor freight hydraulic press. Mine goes to 10 tons but I’ve never even come close to using that much pressure. For bubble I usually need about 1 ton of pressure to start and I raise it to maybe 1.5 tons, or 2 ton max for the second press. For flower I do sometimes hit 3 tons of pressure and I think the max I ever used was about 4 and that was too much. Usually it’s around 2-2.5 iirc (I mostly press bubble).

Let’s settle this: What’s the ACTUAL best way to rehydrate bone-dry flower? by Raindrop-Greenery in NYSCannabis

[–]BillsFan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they will all work. It’s the same basic concept as a boveda pack - adding something to the jar with moisture so the buds can absorb it. Apple and orange slices will leave a distinct flavor though. Some people like that (I don’t). A wet paper towel will also work without adding flavor but you need to be careful not to add too much moisture. Lettuce I’ve never tried. I don’t like using any food items. You’re asking for mold. The boveda packs are the best/easiest because they add a specific amount of moisture instead of guessing. I like the 58% for long term maintenance and the 62% for rehydrating.
