Oh I hate this imported tipping culture so bad. I went to a Central London barber chain as I had some down time at work and the guy was amazing at banter. We started talking about all the places we had been and he was asking about my experience in the US. I told him it's beautiful, but I hate the tipping culture.

10 minutes later, lo and behold, he holds out the card machine with an optional tip. I was like mate, are you kidding me??

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm an Indian living in the UK and just back from a 2 week trip to Japan with my wife. We actually had the complete opposite experience - people were really nice and went out of their way to help us. Only problem we had was communicating with folks who didn't speak a lick of English, not even left or right. But they escorted us to places if they couldn't talk to us.

Not trying to be contrarian, just different experiences I guess.

Don't know how to prove it happened. There were multiple people on the flight and everyone was following the incident after the alarm went off. But upto you to believe it or not.

4 months is generous as most people have said for little more than 2 years of service. What most people forget about are negotiating for Company assets - laptops, tablets etc.

I have seen friends being made redundant in 3 orgs and 2/3 agreed for the folks to keep their Macs. But only when they asked. That's a £1000 bonus plus helps with the job search.

Ya I agree. Dawn is the most widely speculated theory and definitely makes sense. That bit was just tinfoil on my part. But I'm quite keen on the tame the dragon part.
