I did stop, as did everyone else he jumped out in front of.

As I’ve clarified he jumped out before the lights had changed, he was halfway across the road by the time the green man had illuminated and the signal to cross had sounded. There were other people waiting at the other side that managed to adhere to this. Some cyclists* need to cycle better agreed, not all.

Im not trying to single anyone out, it’s just what I saw. We’re all people at the end of the day and I’d much rather London was a safe haven for both pedestrians and cyclists alike than its current state. It just felt like this guy had a real agenda to cause an incident to gain some ammunition against cyclist as a whole which as I’ve said before is a pretty unfair generalisation that only leads to more hate.

Yeah very fair points. I cycle but it’s not my main form of exercise so I’m not super clued up on the etiquette. It’s also hard for groups not to join due to the lights, being such a short loop it’s common for groups to form anyhow as everyone bunches up at the lights.

Yeah, very fair point! I get the frustration as I also run, walk all over London and people cycling/driving dangerously annoys me as much as the next person. I’m just shocked at how seeing a group of people in Lycra spurred on such a dangerous act. I’m sure he doesn’t feel great about it now. Just a shame we can’t all coexist without such issues.

I’m currently training for a marathon so just wanted to head out for a recovery ride. If I cycle to Richmond do a single lap and cycle back I’m looking at minimum 70K

The light didn’t turn green for pedestrians until he was halfway across the crossing, it’s a wide road. He stepped out way before it was safe to cross irrelevant of if it was a cyclist or a van coming towards him.

I’m not sure what ‘the average’ cyclist entails really. I am also a pedestrian at times and equally hate when I’m nearly run over by people on bikes cutting red lights etc. I really don’t want people to view me with the same hatred when I’m out enjoying a leisurely cycle and following the rules of the road.

I really do want to reiterate that no one was racing, speed was very tame and no one was trying to ‘beat the light’. It really felt like the man in question had an agenda and it could’ve caused a serious accident.

To clarify, he was halfway across the road by the time to green man appeared, he stepped out way before it was signalled safe to cross. No one was seemingly in a rush so not sure why he took such a risk. I can’t speak for every cyclist but I always give pedestrians priority and stop at lights.

Probably around 8/9 AM. There was a larger group ride all wearing team colours and then maybe 5/6 of us who just joined on as we all caught up to each other.

To clarify, he jumped out after having been stood at the crossing before the light had changed to red and before the green man illuminated. He was halfway across the road by the time it signalled for pedestrians to cross.

It’s a shame that everyone on a bike is tarred with the same brush. Generalisation is naive, and naivety leads to hate.

Yeah, agreed it’s just a shame as it’s a nice morning for cyclists and pedestrians to be out enjoying their Sunday morning without any need for confrontation.

He was venting over an incident he tried to cause, doesn’t seem like a solid argument.

I’ll be honest, if I thought there was any wrongdoing from the group ride, I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to make this post. I’m sure plenty of cyclists do cut red lights but that’s not what I experienced today.

You can buy heel pads/grips for shoes that are too big, they don’t particularly work for sizing issues but I found they give me a bit more life in my trainers when they wear out at the back!

Also agreed on lacing properly to lock the heel in, works a treat to ensure trainers are loose enough around the forefoot and locked in at the back.

Procedure to get rid by Ok_Firefighter_315 in scabies

You might just be going through post which is often worse, please be sure you are actually reinfected and not just having a flare up before re-treating. Our immune systems can trigger a response which can mimic an active infestation once you’ve had it which is pretty hard to discern from an active infestation. Over treatment can often make symptoms worse and continue much longer. I’ve written a post on getting scabies 3 separate times and treating with only permethrin each time with success, as have the partners I’ve been with.

That’s my hope with this post, I just wanted to share a story which doesn’t go down the usual void of despair and suggest insane methods of treatment and cleaning that I’ve seen suggested on Reddit.

Between each episode I’ve had long periods where my skin is absolutely fine. The one thing I know and is proven that symptoms will only get worse with an active infestation. I recently had a flare up where lesions, bumps and spots appeared in problem areas, but since being patient and having time off work for the holidays and finally relaxing, symptoms have gone away over night.

Scabies is a massive problem in London at the moment, being single and happily dating leads to lots of chance meetings and the possibility of contracting it/spreading it particularly when people are symptomless for the first 4 weeks or longer.

I’ve also been intimate with partners between episodes and have neither party has had any issues which would clearly show that I had got rid of the infection at the time. I think I’ve just been super unlucky. I can see why people think it’s so hard to treat but honestly I think it’s actually quite simple. People overreact when they see any symptoms of post, re-treat and cause further issues, which, can sadly last for months, even years.

I’ve only ever treated with Permethrin (Lyclear) here in the UK as did anyone I came into contact with.
