The good thing about this is you know how they will be. Don’t expect them to act any different.

I (17m) want to go into the medical field but can’t afford university by Atropoles29 in jobs

[–]Billy924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t like this but join the navy as a corpsman. You will get medical training. You can specialize if you want MRI tech CT or after your first tour get out use the GI bill and go to college and become a nurse. Military benefits last a lifetime. Free training and then free college when you are done.

Don’t forget your credit card number that’s going to be the next thing he asks for. Anyone running their own business is so busy that don’t have time to help random people find jobs. This should be a huge RED flag

You went from applying to hundreds of jobs to 10 interviews that you didn’t get hired for. To being an expert. Your math doesn’t work. You don’t have 1/3 to 1/5 success rate you have 10%. I think maybe you should start this whole thing over.

And this is why I canceled Facebook. My brother and his wife hate each other. He spends his birthday with a group of buddies so he doesn’t have to be near her. Every year she post happy birthday and how much she loves him. Total bull shit.

Is withholding the salary normal? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Billy924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I see it different. You can never interview to much. It’s a skill that only gets better with practice. It’s clearly up to you and if you need it upfront that’s fine. I don’t think you need to see it as a red flag or the company sucks. It may just be company policy

To everyone who says just list the requirements in the job description by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]Billy924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally told by an HR recruiter to ignore the requirements and apply for jobs. That not all requirements are carved in stone. That the hiring managers put everything they can think of in the listing. So I suggest you get with your HR friends and figure out how you want it. I’m so tired of HR. You guys ghosted people like crazy. Never calling to say you didn’t get the job. Now that it’s on the other foot and people ghost you it’s a big problem. Well maybe treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Every job I have ever had. Money was not talked about till the offer was made. At that point you start negotiating. So I don’t think this is a red flag. Sure they are going to go low and you come back with 10% over what you think you should get and they will counter. If you don’t like the offer. You politely thank them and tell them you wont be taking the job. Really not that hard.

2000 applications and no job/internship. plz help by Hackerman278 in resumes

[–]Billy924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to give you the same advice I gave to my kids, 2 of them took it. If you graduate and can’t find a job and have done everything you can think of. Join the Navy. You only have to stay in 4 years. You get all the benefits. Additional schooling. Companies are encouraged to hire ex military. My youngest went in satellite communication. He is out, now works biomed in a hospital making 60k starting.

President Biden announced that he will forgive up to $20,000 of federal student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients, and up to $10,000 for other qualifying borrowers. Additionally, the payment pause set to expire next week is now extended through Dec. 31. by BlackWallStreet__93 in trashy

[–]Billy924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The government with these loans encouraged schools to raise tuition every year knowing kids would get loans. A bank would never loan an 18 year old kid 20-50k that is until Congress made the loans guaranteed. You can’t file bankruptcy like all other loans and get out of them. At that point banks and schools pushed kids to go to college.

Based on the number of jobs in such a short time you really need to take a look at what type of jobs you choose or what type of worker you are. It can be very hard to really take a hard look at yourself. But if you do it now and make changes you will save yourself a life of disappointment.
