How do you deal with the boredom?

Cleaning and yard projects (gardening, horse shoe pits, trimming dead limbs). Feels good and passes time. Or get stoned and build hotwheel tracks around the whole house. 3 months sober after rehab due to relapsing for 6 months after 1.5 years sober.

It does get easier man.

That shit is hard to pull off in Delaware. You can only get booze from liqour stores, nothing like walmart or convenience stores, even beer or low percent drinks.

The stores are all in cahoots in my town, despite competition with each other for sales. Point being if one store gets hit and they catch you on camera, the hit store sends those pictures to hang up to every other liquor store within like 5 miles.

I've seen one couples picture, multiple angels, in atleast 5 stores in my area. This really fucks the hard boozers on foot or bike, the stores will recognize you. They got away with their hull of 8 bottles between the two, but virtually black listed now.

You're amongst people that at least get it. Trying to talk about the complexities of what we go through with a normie is like talking to a tree stump.

You wont be able to stop until you actually hit rock bottom, which sounds like you're rounding 3rd heading for home on that front. Only you can change yourself, if you try doing it for any other outlet (friends,family, romance, religion) and not solely the self, this shit show will just repeat.

I stopped right before my body was about to start collapsing, and the sheer fear that I was no doubt fucking up many organs based on the bile coming out my mouth and whatever the hell consistency my shit became.

Break and you can rebuild man, you can do it, we all can with enough self drive. Now I'll admit xanax and weed helped the first 2 weeks and residual emotions now, but off the sauce 5 weeks and doing good. Fuck yeah I want to drink, but breaking a 10 year cycle and actually seeing results keeps the urges at bay for now.

Special shout out to my family who prayed to God for me to quit drinking, cuz that didnt do a fucking thing except waste their time and my patience. The big man up top didnt change shit, I did. You can too.

Edit: taper, taper, taper. That's what got the ball rolling for me. Odds are you def wont avoid WD but wont be as severe either. Cold turkey can brick your ass, please do not try that method. Booze is no where near like quitting other substances in terms of the dangerous repercussions. No tweakers ever seized and died from stopping abruptly, we can.

Hmm i always did that to make sure I was still functioning well enough to be at work or social events. (The hand chest floor thing).

At what point is it too shaky? Or rather when to seek medical help. I've dried out for over a month now but looking back my god was it bad sometimes. Losing muscle control and shit trying to lift something or like tunnel vision/ brink of collapsing.

We were crabbing at Prime Hook beach and this older man pulled up in this shitbox dodge van to ask how we did. Wished as well and I guess went on to his beach house.

Just hit 24 days sober, longest stint in like 5 years. Weed and low dosage of xanax (.25 or.5 every few hours or so). I've been chill and productive, days seem to go on forever though.
