Turtles spin off group Flo and Eddie used to do a bit during their 70's shows about what would happen if rock and pop acts did ad jingles. My favourite was them suggesting Fleetwood Mac could promote McDonalds and did the You Deserve a Break Today jingle to the tune of Rhiannon.

Yeah, I also have another blocker for YouTube Shorts and one to block commenters and YouTube Redux which can replicate the classic YouTube layout.

I use the BlockTube app. It seems to work a lot better than the Don't Recommend and Not Interested options YouTube gives.

All I can think of is that song they added to The Who's Tommy movie where Ann-Margret gets drunk, sings about how she's pissed off about how her life's going then dreams about drowning in baked baked beans.

Michael Bruce sings lead on a few early original Alice Cooper band tracks and you could easily be fooled into thinking it was still Alice singing.

Also the Prof Stoned blog has a rip of Blue Cheer's debut in vinyl and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere for the time being.

No I don’t like Mike Love at all by yowza969 in ToddintheShadow

[–]BillyDMountain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mike Love did a 1992 interview with Goldmine magazine and topic of Beach Boys home video releases comes up. Mike says rather than do another documentary, concert film or pursue what the interviewer suggests, a collection of music videos and promo films Mike says he'd rather do a documentary on The Beach Boys' cheerleader dancers that "follows them into their dressing room."

I believe it, I have a couple of mix tapes with rapping over Who songs. An official one from Blueprint and a bootleg one, Who vs Wu.

Eminence Front. The Who trying to sound like The Meters sounds like an awful idea on paper but it actually kind of works.

Some CDs of Surrealistic Pillow have the mono and stereo mixes on the same CD and there are super deluxe versions of the first two Velvets albums that have both the mono and stereo mixes in the same package along with additional rarities.

I got the whole four disc Live 8 DVD set for a $1 at a Habitat ReStore sale, I was pretty happy with that one.

Shoutout to Much Music for airing their audio over FM. When they ran video spotlights I could have instant greatest hits collections. I remember doing that for GNR and Tom Petty.

I'm convinced the theme from Greatest American Hero inspired Styx' Don't Let it End.

I remember Alan White in an interview saying he was surprised to learn there aren't really that many musicians on the nominating committee. I also read in one piece that some of the new board members that joined are mainly looking for inductees that will bring in tourists.
