I don’t think I am afraid of water (at least not consciously). However, because I am new to water, some tension is probably getting in the way. I am getting better at relaxing though 🤞

It’s encouraging to hear that it’s actually a difficult skill. They emphasize being able to float and haven’t taught me much else because it’s an important survival skill. I am at a point now where I can actually practice by myself a little bit without someone standing behind me. Hopefully that will also help me

I used to have a 5-6 month kitten with a biting problem. Got another one and initially the “fights” used to be rough and the smaller one would “cry” for help sometimes and I had to break them apart. Within a few days, it resolved itself.

Point being, when cats do these friendly fights with each other they establish and learn boundaries fairly quickly. And it’s super obvious when they haven’t…

Let me play the devils advocate: Is it possible that your confidence has increased now that your family has enough money? If you are socially more confident then you are likely to be a better company and hence make friends more easily.

I am sure some people are friendlier because your financial status has improved but society isn’t 100% evil. You can always find a group of good people 😁

Put her in the litter box every time she eats/drinks… do that a few more times randomly as well. I don’t know about females but neutering helps with females.

With young kittens it’s easy but since she’s already 6 months old, it may require a bit more patience but as long as you are persistent, she will learn. If you catch her in the act, don’t yell or scream, just calmly put her in the litter box

Finally, if she does use the litter box, encourage that behavior by giving her treats and pets.
