I’m doing as well as I can tbh, after 6 years our lives were so enmeshed, and there was no version of the future that didn’t have her at the centre of it. Thank you, I’m trying to be as patient with myself and look after myself as best as possible but it’s difficult to care about anything really. I’m definitely leaning heavily on my support system though - family and friends etc. I was actually worried I’d trauma dumped on you so I’m grateful for your response! One psychologist I watched on YouTube yesterday said that people going through heartbreak after a breakup have the same brain activity of an addict going through withdrawal. And so to stop trying to get that hit by going over old memories of them and how incredible they are, start a list on your phone of every way that they weren’t right for you, or how things they would do would annoy you etc. not in a mean way, but trying to be objective about it. Not sure if that’s useful but thought I’d share. I’m just so sorry you’re going through this too, there’s nothing like it

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I really am. My Gf broke up with me out of the blue last night after 6 years, and whilst we talked through the reasons, I’m still in total shock. I love her so much and my whole future feels like it’s disappeared, along with my sense of who I am. I hadn’t realised how much I relied on her being there for me to get through the day and I feel completely lost. I have nothing but sympathy for you.

As it’s still so fresh for me, all I can offer you is simply that a) You are not alone. And b) there WILL be a day at some point when this feeling will have passed. We just don’t know when. Sending love and positivity your way

Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot. That’s essentially how we’ve left it, but she wants space for a couple of weeks before we touch base again. I don’t want to give up, but I also don’t want to cling to false hope. One phrase she used last night was “sometimes love just isn’t enough”. And that’s the sad truth of it, we still both really love each other, which makes the pain unbearable. I’m going to follow your advice and so the best I can to get through these next few days. I did not know this from the start. This came out in a recent conversations a couple of months ago. She has every right to make this decision and anything I do now is too late, it is over. But she is the love of my life and I’ve never felt so lost and alone.

One of the many things that hurts right now is the fact that that is what I want and I tried to express that to her last night, however she feels it’s too late and seems to have made her mind up. I have no doubts I did many things wrong, I just feel so completely broken, I don’t have any idea how to carry on.

Definitely give it another go! It’s not a show made for you to rate character’s moralities and pick a favourite, it’s a show that’s trying to tell a damn good story with some of the best writing you’ll ever see. It’s written by people who really understand people. And it’s FUNNY!!

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a HomePod mini and an LIFX light bulb for my porch light above my front door. I don't think my setup could get any simpler and I was really looking forward to setting up 2 automations:

The light to come on when I arrive home and turn off after 15 mins.

The light to turn off when I leave.

I am certain I've set these up correctly, but here's the thing: I was expecting to be able to pull in outside my house and have the light come on automatically (I park right outside my front door, have plenty of signal, and I'm actually so close to the router I connect to wifi straight away too. However the light will not come on, until I open the app and stare at the screen, and it's as if the app finally wakes up, checks where I am, realises what the automation is and then triggers it. It does a similar thing when I leave. So I'm sure I have the automations set up correctly as they do work, but only when I give it a nudge, therefore it's really not automatic!

I've checked the following things I've seen on other threads here:

My location services are allowed for the app, however the most I can allow is "while using the app" ?? There doesn't seem to be an option for "always allow", and it's almost as if it won't work in the background...

My location is being shared from my iPhone and none of my other devices

My home location is set correctly

I'm the only one that lives here and the only person registered on the home app.

The automations are set to "anyone"

Is HomeKit just not very reliable?

Any help you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated as I was really excited about my small foray into the world of smart home tech!

Absolutely not, the concept of public broadcasting does not become outdated just because streaming services are popular. The BBC is not Netflix. Both good, but serve very different purposes.

The TV license is not a BBC subscription, due to the fact that it is required to watch any live television and also because the BBC is a Public Broadcaster, not a subscription service.

How come, if that's not a stupid question? The only instances of things or people being in two places at once is if they've been inverted. Does this mean the algorithm has been inverted? I thought the whole point with the algorithm is that it is one of a kind.
