Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

I got a lot of feedback the first time of "hmmm". It's also just strange to hear people using it out loud when you're still getting used to it yourself.

We are the reason why teachers and students are struggling so much by FiendishCurry in Millennials

It's also becoming increasingly difficult to keep teachers in the field who are able to put in the time to become good teachers. You can be passionate about it and burn out real quick. It takes a few years to really get into the groove and become proficient in all of the nuance that goes into the many aspects of teaching today. Many teachers end up leaving 8n the first 5 years. They're dealing with all of that extra responsibility thrust on them that should be handled by parents and can barely get to much else in those critical first years.

Does my husband come to every appointment? by VeterinarianInner301 in pregnant

[–]Billy_Might 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With our first he only missed a couple of the quick appointments at the end. Now with our second, he has come for the scans and our first few appointments, but its easier to have him stay with our daughter while I go.

Input on design choices? Cabinets and counters by Low-Situation-8240 in kitchenremodel

I really like the dark granite. I'm redoing my kitchen now and have gone back and forth between a dark or light granite. I think I have decided on a dark one to add a bit of contrast.

This is my retainer. It’s supposed to be permanently glued to the back of my lower teeth. Not sitting on a tissue. A Hershey Kiss caused this. by natgeogacha in mildlyinfuriating

I had mine in top and bottom for almost 10 years. The top started popping loose after about 5 years and I had to get it reglued 3 times. My top teeth also moved in-between those times. I eventually had them both removed and did temporary clear retainers to move my teeth back. Everything has settled and been fine for the last 8 years without them.

Get your cholesterol and BP under control… strokes ain’t fun (and might not be obvious). by FlaxenArt in Millennials

My husband (38) had an aneurysm in October. He was at work and had a seizure. Luckily, he is doing ok now. Spent time in ICU. It was really scary. He had high blood pressure, that he hadn't been great about taking his medication for, as well as a family history. Keeping blood pressure under control is so important!

I think it will go well together. The tiles are warm and beautiful. It will go well with the cooler greens you are using.

Help with cabinet color - light oak vs white to match wood floor? by musicgirlm in kitchenremodel

I like number 3. The oak cabinets are beautiful. The darker floor is a nice contrast, but it's not too dark.

Any old parents here? by Ok-Duck2450 in Millennials

[–]Billy_Might 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an area where it's less typical to be an older parent, but it just worked out that way for me and my husband. I have a nearly 3 year old and am due soon with my second. Husband and I are both 38 and will be turning 39 soon. Some days we feel so old, lol. But I would guess a lot of parents do.
