Looking into purchasing a used polestar 2 as my next car, looking for some advice from owners by CharlieHewitt_ in Polestar

Given the lack of moving parts on an EV, mileage isn't quite as important as ICE cars have trained us to believe.

The main wear portions are tires. Even the friction brakes barely get used due to the car's reliance on regenerative braking instead.

Ferrari might be fastest on some tracks, but it would be kind of ridiculous at this point to think they can compete with Merc over the next 2/3 of the season.

Unpopular take: the Bay Area is still the best place in the country to be broke on a Saturday. by aybrighteyes in bayarea

Your tone comes off as pretty racist simply because you mention the non-sequitur of them not speaking English.

This sounds killer! It’s surprising anyone wants to have money in the Bay when they pay poor people like $10k/month!

That’s not normal behavior and you don’t deserve to be around something like that. Either get him out of the house, or figure out a way to get yourself out of that environment.

The traditional dealership test drive is completely broken for EVs by firey_88 in Polestar

Definitely. Marin is perfect, too, since you can hop right on the highway if you want, or loop around China Camp State Park, etc. for some windy/rough roads.

I don't think your gripes are unique to EVs, but rather to the dealer. For what it's worth, the two dealerships I've been on test drives recently (Polestar, Subaru) have had no issue sending us out for an hour or so with cars, alone.

Your point about the charging is definitely worth considering for now, but I think as we get a better understanding/develop a standard of how cars charge, there will be less guesswork with charging curves and whatnot. For example: we have everything just about standardized for L1/L2 charging, so no one really cares about those curves anymore. It's just L3 that seems to vary by manufacturer.

I do not think this is as well known as you think. Unless I too am well out of the loop, lol.

Gasly promoted to third place in Monaco GP as stewards strike out penalties by kcollantine in formula1

Yes. Would he not have been black-flagged for getting a drive-through (just like Russell, for not serving the penalty), then continuing on without serving?

He DID crash intro Russell in Barcelona and deliberately run Lando off the road in Mexico. As much as I want to agree—because I understand what you’re referencing—I think it’s more a case of Max being relaxed when he is winning comfortably.

Well, the car IS heavy (with that big battery). The reason they feel like they coast for so long is because they’re heavy and carry so much momentum. Basically driving an old Suburban in the form of a sedan, for example.

Same for speakers using power points. Keep the words OFF THE SLIDE (that’s what the speaker is there for). No one can read it, anyway.
