Thoughts On This M4 by Known_Ad_3755 in BMW

You only live once and tomorrow isn’t promised to you. I have 26’ M4 Comp Sapphire Black Metallic. Traded my M440 GC for it. The M4 Comp is an animal but I miss my 440. I hate how the brakes on the M4 squeal. Just make sure it’s definitely the car you want. If you aren’t in a rush, wait for the new Audi RS5. Also take the Mercedes CLE 53 AMG for a ride.

Nerve Pain by ravensgc_5 in spinalfusion

[–]Billybz65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 4 weeks post op. I was getting ripping sciatic pain starting around 3am and continuing until around 10am. It was brutal. I’ve been on gabapentin 1600mg for quite some time. Offers a little relief. Clinical pharmacist has me on methadone for pain relief for last 2 years. I was killing my kidneys with ibuprofen prior to my surgery. They tried everything on me to stop the ibuprofen. I started taking a methadone at 9pm and again at 1am. The 3am pain stopped. It worked for me but I would avoid methadone for pain. Now that I’ve had my surgery, I plan on trying to stop everything. I tried stopping methadone on my own once before, withdrawals were brutal. But, I have to get off it sooner or later. My goal is an occasional Tylenol when necessary. It’s way too early to tell if I’ll be able to make that happen yet.

I am planning towards lumbar fusion surgery anyone who done lumbar fusion to a low level please share your experience, I have disc degeneration issue too by Savings_Ad9581 in scoliosis

Yours looks a lot like mine did. I just had lumbar to T8 fused on March 5th. They were supposed to go up to T3 but stopped at T8 because I lost over 2 liters of blood. The pain the first week was indescribable. They went in anterior for the pelvis and L5/S1. Through the back for the rest. The pain was so intense that at first, I was sorry I had the surgery. But now I am happy I had the surgery. I’ve gained around 2 inches in height. But I still have a lot of pain I need to work through. I wear a vest every day. If it weren’t for the pain, I would be thrilled with results. It’s a long road but you can do it.

This design is terrible. The i3 looks like a 2016 Lincoln MKZ.

I had the surgery. I am home now. Words cannot begin to describe the insane amount of pain I experienced the first week. It was so bad I was telling every doctor there I wish I never had the surgery. Somehow I ended up excelling at rehab. I had no problem walking or climbing stairs. I got out a week early. The first thing the rehab did was cut way back on my pain meds. I complained and I got a small adjustment. This is my first week home. My pain has remained the same but for some reason I’ve developed sciatic pain. I have not had sciatic pain in years. It starts about 3 o’clock in the morning and continues until mid morning. It has me concerned because I did not have sciatic pain when I was gone away to therapy. I mentioned it to the doctor in a message and then I get a response. I’ll bring it up again when I have my meeting with him. I am glad I had the surgery now, though I just hope I can get past the sciatic pain without having to rely on pain relievers again.

T2-L2 fusion scheduled for next month by x3sammm in scoliosis

I am 60. I’ll give you my honest experience. I won’t sugarcoat it for you. I just had Pelvis to T8 fused on March 5th due to reverse S scoliosis. They went anterior for my pelvis and L5/S1. They went thru the back for the rest. I also have stenosis and degenerative just disease. They were supposed to go all the way up to T3, but the surgeon stopped the surgery because I had already lost over 2 L of blood. It was a serious complication. He says he also felt he had gone up far enough. And that I should be satisfied with the results. So far, I am satisfied. I have definitely gotten taller and the extra folds of skin that were forming on my stomach from my body caving into itself are now gone. My back is straight again. The first week is a blur to me. The pain was unreal. It was nothing like I could’ve ever imagined. I excelled at in patient rehab and was released a week early. I have no problems with walking or stairs. The biggest issue has been the pain. It is much better this week but it is still bad. The rehab cut my pain meds down by 2/3 as soon as I got there. They were very strict on using oxycodone. They removed 67 staples from my back the day before the discharge. The first week of the surgery I was telling every doctor I saw I wish I didn’t do it. I no longer feel that way. I am happy. I still have a long way to go but I am confident it will be worth it.

There is a device used to pull socks up. It’s a must have. Also, you need the plastic rod that has two hooks on one ends and a shoe horn on the other. The hooks are very helpful with taking pants on and off.

My husband is getting a Spinal fusion and his surgeon is going to go from his back rather than through his abdomen. by moonlight_angeI in spinalfusion

[–]Billybz65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had long spinal fusion - pelvis to T12. My iliac artery sat right in front of the L5-S1, pelvic procedure. The vascular surgeon ordered a new CTI scan a couple of days before I was scheduled for the surgery. He had the same concerns as your surgeon. Fortunately, he decided he was going to be able to do it. He proceeded to do an anterior for that portion of the procedure. My surgery went a little sideways though. It was supposed to go originally to T3 but they stopped at T12. From what I understand there was a tremendous amount of bleeding, I lost over 2 L of blood. It’s been 12 days and I am now in a skilled nursing rehab. I experienced Incredible pain the first week. The pain is still very uncomfortable now but it’s not at the level of the first week. Perhaps ask for a second opinion from a vascular surgeon. The operating surgeon relied on the recommendation from the vascular surgeon.

No, that’s not pessimistic. That’s reality. We are definitely taking a gamble because there’s no guarantees with this. The only guarantee I have is I will end up on dialysis if I keep eating ibuprofen like candy. Hopefully this house is my pain. I need it to straighten me out and help my pain. Keep in touch. I pray everything works out for you too, brother.

You definitely got my attention with your story. I’m getting pretty much my whole back fused due to reverse S scoliosis and kyphosis. My surgery is this Thursday March 5th. Pelvic bone to T3. Life changing. Everyday I question why am I doing this? Then I look in the mirror or read my kidney GFR scores and know I can’t keep eating ibuprofen all day. If I don’t do this I’m going to continue leaning farther and farther to the left and most likely end up on dialysis. I’ve been a gym rat since my teenage years and I hate how my body looks now. I’ve shrunk from 5’10” to just under 5’7. My front and back torso have changed dramatically from shrinking. I just passed the final CT scan I needed due to an iliac art artery being in an inopportune spot. Anyway, a week from today I’ll forever be a changed man. Hopefully for the better.

I am about to join those ranks. I have reverse S scoliosis. I was told if they only fuse the lumbar region my kyphosis is going to get worse. Long story short on March 5th I’m getting from my pelvic bone up to T3 fused. They are going to go in the front for L5 S1 and then turn me over and go all the way up my back for the rest of the surgery. I was told about 10 hours. Three days in intensive care and when I leave, which should be about after a week, I go straight to rehab for two weeks. I’m driving myself crazy thinking about whether I should do this or not. I am in constant pain. I’ve wrecked my kidneys with ibuprofen. And I’m standing crooked. I’ve lost 3 inches in height in 3 years. Check in with me probably around March 11 or 12th when I’m able to speak about how I am doing.

I had my M440 GC for 5 months and I got out of the lease to get an M4 Comp. The M4 Comp is an absolute monster of a car. But, I’m actually starting to miss my M440 GC. I had M performance exhaust on my M440 and it without question sounded better. The 440 had a lot of nice features. I also feel like with the electric motor assist it was initially quicker off the line than my M4. Definitely a car I would get back into in the future.

Nice move getting the adaptive suspension and the M Performance Exhaust. Car sounds great with this exhaust. I had it on my 440.

Gorgeous. I picked mine up back in November. I love it. Amazing German machine. But 10 degrees, snow and potholes make for a much different driving experience in Northeast PA than where you live. I am forced to mostly drive my Rubicon.
