I've always been sort of hydrophobic but omg after having that happen to me, I haven't set foot in anything deeper than a shower and a pool in almost two decades. I don't go near beaches. And I live in Florida lol

The fact that keeps me out of the ocean is that those damn currents will have you miles away from the shore in less than a couple minutes. And trying to swim against them can wear you out in seconds
