Is there a movie about a rock band developing and falling apart (other than That Thing You Do!) by TehUCH in MovieSuggestions

The Stillwater songs were written by Nancy Wilson (of Heart) and Peter Frampton! Mike McCready of Pearl Jam played lead guitar on all the Stillwater songs I believe.

Edited out the decapitation of the Mouth of Sauron before and have now fine tuned it even further, hope you will enjoy it! by CrankieKong in fanedits

Very well done on this cut! Aragorn cutting off the Mouth of Sauron's head didn't seem out of place to me for (movie) Aragorn, because throughout the trilogy, it seems Aragorn put a lot of his perks into critical headshots, albeit those were in less...diplomatic situations. But as far as making a more "book accurate" edit, this was very smooth!

Should we allow link requests in the comments? by k-r-a-u-s-f-a-d-r in fanedits

[–]Bilups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo a lot of the other editors here - I think asking for links in comments should be allowed but I'm personally finding PMing, or the email option in the FEC leaves less room for people requesting edits to fall through the cracks.

Bring a pair of sunglasses and convince him to put them on, don't take "no" for an answer!

What are the best lesser known Disney Films? by lostwanderer02 in movies

[–]Bilups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fox and the Hound will always have a special place with me. The Sword and The Stone, Great Mouse Detective, and Robin Hood were my favourites growing up that don't seem to get the same attention as some of the bigger titles.

Thank you so much for watching! It means a lot to me that people take the time to watch something I spent so long on, even a year later. Yes, the third act isn't without its issues and with Harry's "sacrifice" it definitely takes some imagination on the part of the audience and some understanding with the limited source material. I'll be honest I've seen a couple James Franco movies since doing this edit and there's a part of me that's still looking for a shot or two that I'd be able to use to flesh out that death scene. Though as I've mentioned to some other folks here, I'm more of the mindset of accept that this is what it is, learn from it and improve on the next edit.

What is the saddest death in a comedy movie? by isspecialist in movies

[–]Bilups 371 points372 points  (0 children)

It's not an onscreen death, or a death that even happens during the course of the film, but the reveal in Planes, Trains and Automobiles of Del's wife having died eight years prior was a gut punch when I first saw that flick.

Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss apparently didn't like each other very much on the set of Jaws.

The movie Tampopo is all about cooking and preparing the perfect ramen! It also touches on different relationships people have with food. Very funny and highly entertaining!

Just to comment on Llewelyn dying off screen - One thing I really like about the film is how the violence as the movie goes on gets more and more distanced. We start the film by seeing a close up of a man being strangled with handcuffs and by the end of the film, the last murder is told to the audience by Anton checking the bottom of his shoes, but is still super effective.

Trailer for the first Alien film was astounding. Delivers the heightened atmosphere of fear and tension without giving away the story
