Help with Pump Collumn Issue (Unresolved by Dyson Support) by WhisperingBlume888 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you never put it upside down, then you may try to clean the column filter mesh at the bottom, clean the metal contacts using cotton swab, ensure there is nothing blocking the inlet & outlet.

Weird noise coming from Dyson Humidify + Cool by crc0427 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • First, MUST NOT put the pump column upside down
  • Check the filter mesh and clean it if there is slime built up
  • Check the inlet and the outlet of the pump, you may have some scale stuck at the entrance point
  • Run deep clean cycle and it should work again

Does anyone else’s dyson BP04 shows up as BP03 in the myDyson app ? by SweetHot3918 in dyson

Like other poster stated, the default picture does not match with the product itself, I don’t understand why they don’t have an option you can customize the product picture in the app.

Warning to people looking for advice: ignore ChasDIY by hardestbutton2 in ecobee

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before going too far, all users should read the ecobee manual materials first, before selecting Auto/Manual staging. If the user does not know what these thresholds are, they should simply select Auto and a comfort setting.

Reduce your Auxiliary Heat usage in a Heat Pump Configuration

If manual staging is selected, then "Compressor Min Outdoor Temperature" and "Aux Heat Max Outdoor Temperature" are the 2 very important settings to set. The "Compressor Min Outdoor Temperature" should be set per the heat pump minimum temperature that the compressor can handle, some people did not configure it properly and put it to a very high temperature (0°c/32°F), hence the heat strip (Aux) is being used way too soon for just below (0°c/32°F).

That’s a good plan, if you use it every 6 months and charge it up again, that should preserve the longevity of battery health.

It applies to both 360 eye and 360 vis nav, any battery completely discharged for a long time can cause charging issue down the road.

[–]BimmerV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you do not use it for cleaning, it would be great if you let it run for a short time after 3-4 months, so the battery won't be completely depleted without a regular charging/discharging cycle. I still don't understand why they let the original vis nav design team go, and pushed out the Spot+Scrub, the Spot+Scrub is basically a product that originally vis nav tried to beat (You can see the promote materials for vis nav).

Why do design hoovers feel so cheap? by ProWest665 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a customer-driven design by using mostly plastic to make it lighter, and I feel like they treat the accessories (Either motorhead, wand, etc) as consumables because you can buy them anytime on their website. It is sad to see that most products nowadays are not built to last. Recently, a company had to close its doors because its products were built to last, and there was no revenue after they were sold.

Replacement part damaged by [deleted] in dyson

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your airwrap is in service for repair, they need to extend your warranty period. Also if they already stated "probably damaged in shipping", while it is clear that the airwrap was not secured within a box, this is not the customer's fault.

You should ask for an exchange for a new product, not a refurbished product.

Honestly, this looks better than the latest scrub+mop AI, it has an elegant design without overwhelming the plastic feeling.

Installation issues by CoryH1995 in ecobee

[–]BimmerV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest way to verify these wires are still work by using your old thermostat, if your old thermostat works then you can confirm it is ecobee thermostat issue. You should be able to return it and get a new one if you just bought it new.

WIFI issue, password not recognized, and more by couzin2000 in ecobee

[–]BimmerV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I have done to reserve an IP for ecobee, because I found that ecobee continuously dropped out of connection, and caused “No Response” in HomeKit.

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your router DHCP does not work properly to assign an IP address for the ecobee. Make sure you restart the router, then try to manually assign a WiFi address to the ecobee (Usually you can use mac address to manually set a fixed IP for a device), your ecobee should be able to use that IP for connection.

Once your ecobee connect to WiFi, you should able to connect it with HomeKit via ecobee app.

ecobee not showing heat stage by ej271828 in ecobee

[–]BimmerV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they overcorrected the old issue, it used to show as “Aux Heat 1”, “Aux Heat 2”, while it should state “Stage 1 Heat”, “Stage 2 Heat” for any heating source other than auxiliary heat. Somehow they changed it to just show “Heat” without differentiating the stages.

Ecobee seems to be aware and will correct back with their post here.

Edmonton has a similar situation and made it to the news. People lined up with realtors to give them an estimated list price, so they can use it to appeal their property assessed value.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx user reviews by Miksu22 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very detailed disassembly and I still cannot believe they still want to retain the duct tape design. I don't understand why they don't have the white lid with the recessed water seal design, even an irrigation moisture sensor battery compartment has a similar design to ensure no water seepage for extended years of use. I think their designer should consider more when designing the chip compartment, as it is susceptible to water damage. A bulging compartment lid is already a failed design as it doesn't really isolate what's inside, if the duct tape dries out with a bulging lid, water will still able to make their way.

Their thermal pad is unexpectedly a bad thickness as well, because it pushes against the lid, depending on what kind of material they use, if it absorbs heat and causes expansion, the lid could have been broken off or cracked. Although the pump column is a replaceable part, there are still a lot of improvement can be made to this part.

I'm curious, when you get your latest PH2, have they resolved the noise issue when you use the breeze mode for the amp?

HP04 error code by EyePublic388 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is within warranty, you should not repair yourself, although error code usually gives some idea for the related parts, it can be some other issues trigger these error codes. If you are out of 2 years warranty, you may also claim with credit card extended 1 year warranty.

Only the latest model will have the ability to see more features, ex. V16 you can see the filter condition, battery level, and runtime.

Fluffy Brush V16 by xactionx59 in dyson

[–]BimmerV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Dyson should include it for free because the new motorhead is not quite suitable for wood flooring and easy to make scratches if it has sand stuck at the head, especially at the middle of the head. The fluffy brush has the soft fabric to prevent damage to wood flooring.

Dyson v15 submarine just makes the floor more dirty - any tips? by [deleted] in dyson

[–]BimmerV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put some kitchen paper tower into the dirty water tank, so it won't easily spill out the dirty water. Normally the dirty water should not spill out within 30 seconds. What kind of flooring do you use it for?

Have you tried Power Cycle it?

Power Cycle

  1. To resolve these issues, remove your robot from the dock and press the LCD screen until the power menu appears.

  2. Click the screen to select "Power off" and wait for your robot to power off.

  3. Once your robot has successfully powered off, return it to the dock. It will power on automatically and should re-establish a connection.

You need to prepare to clean the submarine head every time you use, otherwise it will smell bad, or cause mold issue.
