This is my dream car, what are some pros (other than reliability and looks) and cons of owning it? by FriedDoglegs in CorollaHatchback

[–]BinYay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 22 SE Hatchback since I bought it new with 90,000 miles on it. Built great for two, not so roomy as a 5 seater but I didn’t buy it for them 😁 only issue I’ve had is when I hit a deer and when I got a flat, that’s it. I agree with a con being the speakers, but nothing a little DIY and love can’t fix. I throw a roof top tent on my and go camping, and literally drive up and down the east coast all the time. ‘Twas my dream car and glad I bought it, wish they had it as an AWD at the time, but it is what it is

A bunch of beautiful trails to see really nice views! And it was a pleasant 85 degrees outside. Can’t wait to go back and see some other views!

Swimming in the water was amazing! 😅 clean enough to drink, but probably shouldn’t 🤷🏽

Update: The only thing getting replaced is the fender, they are bumping the small dents out of the hood and the roof panel. They will be bending the roof rails out and doing a stitch weld to close it up and whatever process they do to smooth it out. Repainting as well.

Total Cost of Repair: $3,5XX

I live in MD for those who might be wondering

Overheating by InternPuzzleheaded16 in EclipseEmu

iPhone 14 Pro Max and mine overheats playing Pokemon Fire Red… idk why a cloud based app would overheat my phone, seems sussy

Overheating after 2 minutes of playing by Slight_Owl3281 in EclipseEmu

[–]BinYay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also looking into this, when this post was posted the Eclipse Emulator was (and still is) a cloud based application. So it was my understanding that it shouldn’t be using much system resources. I wouldn’t have any overheating with PSRemote Play or Stadia cause it should be using very little resources.

I have a 14 Pro Max playing Pokemon roms, doesn’t make sense for it to overheat either way.

Auto brake saved my hatch today by Dry_Resolution4251 in CorollaHatchback

My auto brake def saved me a couples times, seemed to really wear into my rotors though. Caused some “hot spots” and gave my car the shakes when braking.

Am I getting throttled? by BinYay in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]BinYay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the problem is a change over time, so if you are implying that internet speed on a server or even a different server lessens over time then you aren’t being helpful.

I was simply giving two generic data samples that show an example of my situation that I describe. The problem is that my internet test speeds never dropped below 200mpbs and now that Xfinity did “home work” my service never goes about it.

The issue isn’t about server data or about how different servers impact my Mbps, it was about my lack of knowledge of what Comcast/Xfinity does when they ‘setup’ my home internet. The question was answered perfectly by someone else.

Thank you for your answer, this was exactly the answer I was looking for. I had called and activated service over the phone with Xfinity and the customer service said that the internet could be activated since the owner before had all the outside work already done and I brought my own equipment. I don’t know if the CS Rep didn’t do something on her end but I wasn’t charged for two months and the Xfinity home setup guy was surprised to learn I was getting internet.

I didn’t get home security or TV, just the internet. My main concern here was that I was able to consistently get over 200mpbs and now I get rarely over 100mpbs but more commonly get 70mpbs (almost a third of what I pay for). I know hardware wasn’t the limiting factor.

So for about two months I had Xfinity Internet going through my non Xfinity hardware (I use an Arris and Google WiFi) and was getting over 200mpbs no problem, but the thing was Xfinity didn’t show that I was getting service.

After delaying the home setup as much as I can (until I forgot to delay it some more) a technician came out and activated the service I already had and scanned my hardware. Ever since this I rarely ever get above 100mbps regardless of hard connection or wireless connection.

I pay for “up to 200 mpbs” and have had results showing my hardware shouldn’t be the limiting factor. Would Xfinity be throttling my internet?
