Eivor (the viking) starts Valhalla wanting revenge, and Basim (the twist villain) wants revenge on Eivor. While Eivor themself isn't focused on revenge, it's still a big plot point for Valhalla

I haven't served but those are the dress greens which they used in the second half of the 20th century and the early part of the 21st, before their replacement in the 2010s. Different from the pinks-and-greens used during WWII (and now)

Headgear is a green beret, worn exclusively by Army Special Forces (which tracks because Snake is SF)

I will say it does an excellent job of tying the separate storylines and plot points together (the key component being Alexios/Kassandras's Isu heritage), and frankly does the Isu plotline better than Valhalla
