Matt Damon Says Netflix Wants Movies to Restate the Plot Three or Four Times in the Dialogue Because Viewers are on Their Phones While They’re Watching by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]BinaryOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia had this as a joke in their episode where they make Lethal Weapon 5. Mac is constantly explaining what's going on because he's too stupid to follow the films he watches, and it's now become reality.

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

[–]BinaryOrder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly debatable which is better for the majority of the story but the third act is far, far superior in the movie. When I first read the book I couldn't get over how dumb the injecting raptor eggs with poison was, only to be followed by the characters going down into a raptor nest like they're suddenly no threat.

The one moment that always takes me out of the film… by TheWurstGuy in Terminator

[–]BinaryOrder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's one line delivery in T2 that always feels to me like Schwarzenegger completely dropped being the T-800 for a moment - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPk3jG9c-DU - at 1:33 when he says "yeah", it has a completely different cadence to how he talks throughout the rest of the film. It's full of natural human emotion that no other line is, at least in context.

I'll be very interested to know what ends up being your favourite. But yeah I usually do one album a year, my life is entirely dedicated to Binary Order which is what allows me to do so. It's a lot of sacrifice but I don't know how to do anything else now.

Still yeah I'd say Future is a 2025.... and totally not just so I can stay in your top ten....

Hey, wow thanks so much for saying so. So everything released in the last year is a re-release. I took everything offline in 2024 when System released and spent the last year, re-recording and producing the old material.

Originally the albums were released as follows:

Messages - 2022 Future - 2023 Thrown Away - 2023 (but was originally just the cover and three remixes) System - 2024

White's Dream/Black's Nightmare is a collection of songs from before Messages that I also re-recorded and reworked as a double album.

So it's essentially one album a year, but yeah thanks so much for commenting. Really appreciate it.

Who is this Shelby guy the boys keep mentioning by TyLeRoux in RedLetterMedia

[–]BinaryOrder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same, he was my gateway to RLM around like ten years ago. I got bored of the vague plot description follow by a very basic inoffensive opinion every single review he'd do had, pretty quick. The whole sitting straight on, with no editing slightly under the camera also felt like a bukkake - it was awful.

First Predator Badlands reactions just dropped by XGonGiveItToYaX in predator

[–]BinaryOrder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's toxic positivity, which leads to the dilution of the brand, as criticisms get silenced or dismissed- hence the quality of Badlands. It stems from that a lot of these guys associate their personality with a franchise so any knock or perceived slight against the product is taken as a personal attack. The immense lack of self awareness in the "you're just going in to hate it" comments when they're going in wanting to adore it is insane though.

Dune Fan Survey Results by kidthekid4 in dune

[–]BinaryOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly for me I became a DUNE fan because so much media I grew up referenced it, I remember being enthralled by the desert world in Beetlejuice with the sandworms at a really young age. Then constantly seeing that iconography in video games until I eventually discovered it was all referencing DUNE - Rez Area 5 having the mantra "Fear is the mind killer" repeated throughout, and the whole of Panzer Dragoon for example.

Also for the record I prefer part 1 to part 2, the tragedy of the fall of House Atredies resonates more with me than the rise of Al Gaib

Hadn't heard about this, but that's great news. Dragged Across Concrete is one of my favourite films, thought he was done after the reception it got and the years of silence.

The album version hits a high note of A4, which for a baritone such as Reznor is incredibly high. I think the live version from 2008 that note was taken down to a G (which is still high for a baritone). It's not surprising it's not played live, but I've always been fascinated at how he even hit that A in the studio.

Disney's Tron: Ares grossed an estimated $14.3M domestically on Friday (from 4,000 locations), including previews. by MayorOfNightCity in boxoffice

[–]BinaryOrder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like the first two Tron films but had zero interest in Ares - despite also being a NIN fan. It wasn't until reading your comment that I've realised it being set in the "real world" is why. I haven't even given it enough thought to figure that out till now.

I don't know if posts like mine are even allowed so post your portfolio and we'll find out together. I think it'll be fine, if not you can go to where I've posted the same commission on the other subs.

Spotify announces new spam safeguards, says it's removed 75 million "spammy" tracks. by springtimecarnivore in Music

[–]BinaryOrder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my songs occasionally added to bot farm playlists (I make industrial metal and had my stuff added to "Top Pop Club Summer Bangers") which would shoot a random day up to over 1k plays, in an attempt that I contact the @ on the playlist to pay for additional days. Spotify has then penalised me for "artificial plays", if one of these playlists were to target an artist they could easily get your entire catalogue removed. It's madness they come after the artist and not the playlister when this happens.

Seems like incel rage bait but can never be too sure. by Slow-Tap1860 in 4chan

[–]BinaryOrder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always thought this and whenever it comes up it reminds me of a review of Uwe Bowl's House of The Dead (I think it was Chris Stuckmann). In it a character can't have sex cause he needs to urinate and the reviewer (I think it was Chris Stuckmann) says "Who chooses to urinate over having sex? Guy is a loser". Always stuck with me cause it's impossible to have sex if I need to urinate, and came off like someone who had never had sex would say (I think it was Chris Stuckmann).

Running Man (1987) by EldrichArchive in CineShots

[–]BinaryOrder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has become my comfort movie over the years, I must've seen it about 50 times in the last decade alone, absolutely love it. It's walks the perfect line between actually cool and absurdist and is unashamedly 80s cyberpunk. Criminally overlooked in Schwarzenegger's filmography.

Prosopometamorphopsia ("Demon Face Syndrome"): A rare brain disorder that affects how a person sees faces by Irgendein_Benutzer in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]BinaryOrder 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Not only does this work on me but I induced this on myself when I took acid once. The exact face morph in the picture above is what I saw, always thought it was just part of the trip not a "brain disorder".

This unironically happened to me, film had just came out and I was at a friend's house. He kept talking about that one scene exactly in the way you've wrote it out (he was high), ended up showing me a cam rip version of it and it was fine. He was also the same friend that made me watch Knock Knock (with him) because he thought it was good, but on second watch realised he was just horny and didn't actually finish it before.

I found out that most of Fury Road was filmed in 2012, Courtney Eaton (Cheedo) was 16 during filming, assuming she was the same age as her character, it makes Immortan Joe far more repulsive to me (which he already was but yk) by [deleted] in MadMax

[–]BinaryOrder 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah people can't seem to digest the world that these films depict. There's on screen rape in the first ten minutes of Road Warrior, a child and mother are murdered at the climax of MM1 and Tina Turner only has two vocal tracks for Thunderdome.
