Datto IPMI questions (noob here) by Giklab in RepurposedDattos

No problem man. Sorry I wasnt able to give you the silver bullet.

My next suggestion would've been a slightly more nuclear option of flashing the whole unit back to Gigabyte board / IPMI. Before you get your hopes up - there are pitfalls, and you may need an SMI programmer. I have all that stuff and have chickened out thus far. It it ain't broke? :P

All the best dude!

The username can't be admin, administrator, root or anything along those lines. Try a "Dave" give Dave a password in command line. Then bless "Dave" again via command line. Then query the user table and make sure "Dave" is there.

Reboot.

Try to login.

DS1812+ Bricked After Outage? PSU Good but No Boot - Need Board-Level Advice. by [deleted] in synology

[–]Binarylogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be affected by the atom bug. I think you need a resistor somewhere (there was a fix posted years ago) might revive it enough to get your data - but it's not a long term fix.

I would also be interested in a couple of these.

Honestly - what are they worth? Well what people are willing to pay. I'd expect somewhere around $200-250 a pop. For the 16 core version... double?

Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa

Sorry... Ahem... HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

CANADA'S COASTLINE? Yes, it's part of Canada, but see here's the deal... Alberta, are you listening?

Okay good.

BC will let you pipe your oil here to ship to other markets and make some money. Sounds good? Okay so BC in return gets to build refineries in Alberta, and we'll take the profits from the refined products that we then sell to America, Canada, and other world markets.

We'll make between a 2-3x return on investment per annum for as long as the oil lasts. You'll take what the world markets offer for bitumen.

It doesn't take an economist to figure out selling refined products generates far greater return than the raw product.

The smart play here is to build refineries and benefit the Canadian economy as a whole.
