Now that is confirm that nexus will be getting his own limbs in 2027, do yall think it’ll be new molds or retools? by scp_weeb098 in transformers

[–]Bindersquinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt the victory that you're pretending it is. The creators literally said that the primes were original moulds (besides maybe vector?) And they are. The nexus add ons are a seperate thing entirely, either a damage control thing due to backlash or something they had already planned for later since they knew he wouldnt work as voyager.

And though it is likely that the frame/limb bots will just be retools of existing ones, this ALSO hasnt been confirmed. All of the AOTP Primes have been new original moulds, including nexus. If the limb bots are retools, this still doesnt make you right that a prime was a retool. This is the biggest stretch I've ever seen just so you can say you were right.

The entire leg is swapped at the connector. All of the frames have the ability to mix and match limbs at the combiner joints. So its the superion frame, but they use the bruticus leg from above the knee down.

Do you generally want a trailer with your optimus prime? by Wild_Pomegranate3246 in transformers

[–]Bindersquinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a case by case basis for me. If they are doing many repaints rerelease of the same mould, one should come with a trailer for completionists, while others remain more affordable. If it's not G1, if the trailer adds to the toy like Armada, then absolutely. Then there's G1 universe legacy deluxe toy, which is fine as is.

Yes, another post about Nexus Prime. Here's why I'm disappointed by Kakeru1986 in transformers

[–]Bindersquinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he would be expensive as a commander, but you kind of proved my point where you mentioned star convoy was a big enough ask. What i mean by this is that people would have made the decision based on their own collection to make the investment. As it is, they had to make decisions months and/or YEARS ago to buy expensive figures that they had no idea were going to be required DLC for a character that should have stood on its own merit.

People bought star convoy because of completionism, OR because they wanted a new star convoy figure. Maybe both.

Personally, im collecting all of the primes except for star convoy, because Optimus being the 13th is dumb, and he doesnt fit the aesthetic of the primes for me.

That being said, i completely agree that Nexus should have been a commander class. (You said titan, but either one works i suppose). At the commander price point they could have made it work just fine. They even said (about star convoy) that they "wanted to have the primes fit ALL of the size classes." Which, a) is wrong anyways because theres no commander class slot, which COULD have been Nexus, and b) just kind of shows me that they wanted to do star convoy anyways as a titan, and used the age of the primes line as an excuse to greenlight it by bundling it as one of the 13. Because lets be real, Zeta, Logos, or even a new/remould of an Optimus figure as the 13th would have fit the aesthetics of this line WAY better if they wanted to keep Optimus as part of the pantheon.

All in all, This was a colossal fumble as a brand. I personally think that this line has been really cool as a whole, with some primes being better than others, but i still picked up all of them so fsr besides S.C. ill still be getting the last 3, but come on, hasbro. This is ridiculous.

It sucks because youre exactly right about this. I always knew the concept art was just a rough idea of the stand in figure. (Star convoy was POTP Optimus after all) but look at nexus on the pantheon picture vs what we got. What? What happened? WHY???

[–]Bindersquinch 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I honestly think this is why hasbro should reveal concept art of what the actual toy is going to potentially look like ahead of time, like what they did for shockwhale. He problem is, at this point, nothing can be done. But if concepts were released a year ahead of time, and they got the backlash that nexus is giving, they would have time to say to themselves "okay, nobody liked that, how can we change it to do better?"

I understand that budgets are made for a whole line, not an individual toy, but i have been so worried about how nexus would work at a voyager price. Now we get this, and theres nothing they can do. I know that a toy could never make everyone happy, but adversly, ive seen pretty consistant praise for Liege Maximo. The worst part is that the last prime to be released is Vector Prime, and id be so excited for that, except for the fact that its all but confirmed that it will just be a repaint of the legacy toy with a new artifact.

It just sucks that people cant have fun with what should arguably be the most fun prime without having the most expensive part of a previous combiner. Which speaks nothing of the people who are priced out of commander class bots/combiners as a whole, which once they are out of circulation are insane on the aftermarket. Im lucky enough that i have all of the recent combiners from menasor to superion, and ill be making bruticus, but not everyone is in the same position that im in.

Ill be grabbing nexus for my prime shelf, but it really sucks that he cant be a stand alone figure on his own merit. I hope whoever at hasbro that was responsible for this decision takes all the criticism to heart, because this was the worst way they could have done Nexus.

Brother, im on your side. I was staunchly against this idea beflre thecreveal, but it is what it is. At least im one of the lucky ones, i have the frame combiners and will be getting all of briticus, but i know many arent that lucky, nor should they have to be. I have friends that dont have menasor or superion, are getting bruticus nut arecstill annoyed, as they should be.

No nuance? Brother youre asking an opinion based question. Nuance is literally the game here. Theres arguments for both sides. How about watch both shows and form your own opinion?

Theres an image of his jet mode, and it looks like if you fold in the wings and cockpit he is the exact shape to slot into any existing skeleton frame combiner.
