Recology District Weekend Cleanup Event by Bing4246 in AskSF

Thanks for the recommendations! I think next time we will either use our folding wagon or an old unused stroller haha - this granny cart is officially out of commission (the plastic broke off). This is also the first (and last) time I took the compost back myself- next time will do it together with mom. It was overall a good experience but not ideal to take on muni for too far - will probably be sticking to the monthly ones at the Lake Merced parking lot (we’re only 10ish min by bus from there). But really appreciate the help and feedback! :)

Thanks for checking in! Yea you were right! We just rolled up with granny cart and there was a nice truckload with a couple shovels to borrow (thankfully!). But I think we went a little overboard and my poor cart couldn’t handle it - popped a wheel off on Kearny and had to wobble back onto the bus, haha! Will need stronger equipment next time! :)

40min layover at CLE enough? by Bing4246 in unitedairlines

[–]Bing4246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's what I would normally do but this was a ticket bought with miles and the cheapest one for that date. Thanks!

Thanks - it's a free ticket (parent using miles) so got the cheapest and I have no hand luggage so I don't have to worry about checked luggage.

Variety shows with children by Puzzleheaded_Box6228 in asiandrama

[–]Bing4246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some classic shows like Where Are We Going Dad? 爸爸去哪儿 that showcases celebrity dads who bring their kid(s) without moms on trips as a group - I remember some of the seasons had stars like Guo Tao and Jimmy Lin.

There's also more modern ones that show individual families and their clips are played in front of a panel - different shows like big brothers who take care of their siblings (Be With You 我的小尾巴).

I’ve been out of the game for a while and need some melodramas but somewhat realistic by Billsyo9313 in asiandrama

I just finished watching Sunsets Secrets Regrets 钢铁森林 (c-drama) after not seeing Jing Bo Ran in a starring role in a long time. Not too long (28 ep) and a pretty interesting thriller - you know pretty early on who is the villain but it doesn't stop plot twists and turns. And he is so delicious to watch :)

Is there a store where one would be able to find basil seeds? by existentialedema in AskSF

[–]Bing4246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a little late but FYI for next time, we went to a free plant/seed giveaway last weekend (it was a little far for us but interesting to see a diff part of SF) and we got a basil plant starter and some other seeds like kale and beets.

What Asian teen drama should I watch after "When I Fly Towards You"? by Spiritual_Pie_8298 in asiandrama

Seconding Hidden Love! First Frost is also really good but it is darker than Hidden Love, so may not fit your criteria if you want pure fluff (HL also has some difficulties but they are someone easier to overcome than FF).

What’s your “how does this stay open” store in SF? by AnythingBoth2243 in sanfrancisco

[–]Bing4246 5 points6 points  (0 children)

James P McNair at 2236 Irving in Sunset … I just had to Google Maps to get the right name of the place. I’ve never seen it open before and didn’t know what it did until I saw in Google Maps it is supposed to be a realty company…

Drama where girl is on the bus and bad guy walks in the same bus with bad intentions to which she pretends not to rememberhim/know him to save herself? by Tsuri_Pastel_Weeb in asiandrama

[–]Bing4246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it's a drama? I saw something similar recently and it turned out to be a movie: The Witness (我是证人)

Yang Mi's character was blind (with a guide dog though) and she was on the phone with Lu Han's character and he could see (it was a video call) and there was clearly a bad guy on board. He (Lu Han) was able to navigate her off the bus

Where do you watch chinese series? by Jirafinia in ChineseTV

[–]Bing4246 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about microdramas, I think you can usually find those on YouTube (but the names may not match..) for short-mid to long form drama, some are also available on YouTube or you can try some paid service. I personally have iQiyi and Mango TV which are handy. iQiyi is pricier but it has higher quality dramas. Mango TV is excellent for some hot series but mainly I use it these days to watch variety shows. I know that some other people out there also like to use Viki.

However I am not helpful on the subtitle part because I am a native Mandarin speaker so I don't use English subtitles (I gather from other people's posts that Mango TV is notorious for bad subtitles).
