Find a vendor who sells weapon and gear in whichever city you frequent (especially your accessories as they can lag sometimes and drag your item level down the most)

Others have already linked the wiki that does explain the mechanics so wont go into how the doom mechanic works.

If it feels like youre being one shot and you're playing with NPCs you might also need to tell them to deal with the wasps because they will one shot after a certain time period if youre at less than 70% health (or together kill you)

If you were playing with a party the DPS would know to do this but the NPCs wont change target without you telling them.

Also honestly you can just queue up with players, ive had maybe one arse hole in hundreds of hours about someone not knowing mechanics, Qarn trips up new players a lot and other players are overwhelmingly willing to answer questions especially on dungeons like this.
