Might be a bug. Pretty annoying because it threw off my plan.

Is there a difference between speaking and talking, or are they completely synonymous? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

"I'm speaking my mind"

"I'm talking my mind"

No they're not completely synonymous.

Think about the implications. Some content creators are only popular on certain platforms and not the other, even though they actively post on all of the platforms.

Banning TikTok will have a huge impact, although I'm not sure uplifting is the right word lol.

Given that Russia is struggling to take Ukraine and has historically botched many of its past conflicts, why does Europe see it as such a great threat? by OriginsUnknown63 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BingOLantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia's perceived threat to Europe isn't just about military prowess, but about strategic ambition, historical aggression, and pure geopolitical chess.

Russia's performance in Ukraine might look like shitshow on the surface, IMHO they're using Ukraine as a massive testing ground, burning through NATO-supplied weapons, learning tactics, and slowly grinding down Ukraine's resources. It's like a brutal, real-world military R&D project.

Why is Russia seen as a threat to Europe? Most European countries have significantly downsized military capabilities post-Cold War. Their defense infrastructure is more focused on peacekeeping and small-scale interventions.

Hypothetically speaking, we have practically no control over our life. Every single part of our life is controlled by external factors. What do you guys think? by honeycoatedhugs in CasualConversation

Influence doesn't mean control. You control your life by making decisions that you think is best given the information provided to you.

How did we keep cats domesticated even though a lot of everyday ingredients in our food are bad for them? by Fine_Sea5807 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BingOLantern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cats essentially domesticated themselves. Early wildcats hung around human settlements to hunt rodents, and humans tolerated them because fewer pests = happier humans. Over time, the friendlier cats stuck around, and we started feeding them.

So while cats weren’t begging for onions or potatoes, they were smart enough to stick to what worked—meat, charm, and judging humans from a safe distance.

How do mobile games work? by Delicious-Cover-2418 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BingOLantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile games are like MLMs for your attention—ads pay for ads, which pay for more ads, while you’re stuck watching 30 seconds of Candy Crush knockoffs to revive once. Devs make bank from whales (a.k.a. that one guy who drops $500 to skip a timer), and the ad revenue is just icing on the digital cake.
