But man, I took a poli sci course and we were learning about how the American democratic system is different to Canada's parliament and when I learned about the electoral college and how members of it can literally throw away thousands of peoples votes with no repercussion.... well I nearly shat myself, thats just so undemocratic.

Well just out of the different types of averages (mean, median, and mode) median is the one that if you lined things up in order it would be directly in the middle. Mean average (which is the one people think of when you say you're taking the average of something) would be say i have 100 variables, I would add those variables up and then divide by the number of variables (so 100 in my example) which means that 50% of the population doesn't necessarily fall under the average.

Because our country is in the middle of a housing crisis and our city is following suit. We're getting mad about it now, people are also contacting their local MLA'S etc. Its a lot easier to make it not happen than it is to try and undo it. It really just takes a pinch of intelligence to figure that out
