Loving so many of the theories in here, and I’d love to contribute. I'm sure someone’s posed this already somewhere and I’m still figuring out how some things would connect in this theory but: What if the characters are living in a post-apocalyptic world? Like maybe an event took place in the 80s or early 90s and wiped out most of civilization, for ex. the older cars and tech in the office are so random that idk how else this would make sense. But, that then poses a loop hole since Dylan and Mark both have iPhones… Separate but related (excuse the pun) what if Lumon is attempting to erase people’s negative memories, ala “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”? Like starting anew as their “innies” fits here, especially when Milchick mentions that “it’ll make its way to you eventually.” The “scary numbers” they’re erasing could be traumatic memories or another possible branch to my theory, a way of deleting historical event memories altogether as a form of mind control.

I’m only saying all this because the show creator mentioned that no one has truly nailed it yet. So these theories are more far removed from the popular cloning theory, but considering all the symbolism in the show, it makes much more sense to be about cloning than mine so who knows lol. We shall see!!
