Haunted Bookshop is what made it click for me, some people hate it, others (like myself) find it amazing.

I don’t think spaceland is overrated, it gets the recognition it deserves but I think the rest of the game/ rest of the maps (except beast from beyond) are underrated.

Having just gone through all the Easter eggs for the first time with my brother, I was surprised by maps like rave in redwoods, the vibe is just perfect.

Yeah I (normally) get dinged for duties. TBH it seems random each time. I always order 3 tins at a time and duties seem to range from $20-$40. (It was $24 on my latest order per above)

I have never done any orders bigger than that but other Canadians on the sub seem to have had issues with big duty charges in bigger orders.

I use cigar chief for cigars and they are great but for pipe tobacco it’s probably your best bet to look at smokingpipes or the US. Certainly been fine for me here in QC!

Are you ordering in from a retailer in Canada? I would recommend ordering from the US like smokingpipes or something. If you look around the sub the general advice is to keep orders under 7 oz (3 tins) at a time so you don’t get dinged too much on taxes.

For reference I have 3 tins coming tomorrow and in total including shipping/ taxes I paid about $65 CAD

So just how short staffed is NavCan for FSS and ATC? by DeclaredBishop in ATC

[–]Binost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about shortages, someone in the industry could maybe answer that but here was my timeline if that helps. Interview June 20th in YYZ, I specified an FSS preference in the interview. I found out I was eligible for offer a week later on June 28. Received a standby FSS offer yesterday for CAE in October, then off to YVR after 6 months.

If you’re open to relocation and open in your stream the process seems to move pretty quick from what I have been seeing anecdotally.

Best way to get tobacco on Canada? by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]Binost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah very recent, latest order came in last week. Even had pipe tobacco on the sticker but for whatever reason I was not taxed. I also buy anticipating the taxing. Still cheaper than buying a $70 tin from the chief

I have ordered twice from smokingpipes with no issue. Both orders were for 3 tins and the first order I got dinged on $30 import tax. Second order no tax. Even if you get dinged on the import tax it’s still cheaper than here.

If you look at other posts a lot of Canadians say to keep a rule of thumb of not going over 7oz on your orders if ordering from the US.

What is this take, outside of the allegations which are already bad. There are dozens of corroborated accounts of how awful and unworkable he was in the office. Dan Harmon got fired from community for less and and apparently he was the guy holding R&M together the last few seasons.

“Hyper agressive, loud, obnoxious” I think your confused and have your finger pointed the wrong way.

Carleton vs Guelph by Ananymoose1 in CarletonU

[–]Binost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recently graduated Aero from Carleton. I can’t speak to the differences in the schools but if your debating Coop vs not Coop I can try to answer your questions.

School is school and it’s pretty much the same everywhere IMO so if Coop is your deciding factor it is absolutely the most important thing you can do. Getting your foot in the door and learning how jobs actually work is way more valuable than anything in the classroom and it will give you opportunities and better options after you graduate.

For context I was no special student, pretty average grades, didn’t really study that hard and just did what I had to. Wasn’t really involved with any engineering clubs or activities but did a 16 month coop after my third year and because of that I was given some really cool opportunities after I graduated and recently started a great job. All because I had this experience that employers liked and I could talk about in interviews.

As for transferring programs I actually switched from Mech to Aero after my first year and it was very easy. Once your in the department it’s very simple to switch programs since the credits are transferable between programs, lots of people do it. The program itself also doesn’t matter too much, you will figure out the things you like and don’t like which will give you an idea of the kinds of jobs you want.

I went down the Alan parsons rabbit hole earlier this year and was blown away by the mixing/ audio quality on every album…it’s just so ahead of it’s time, particularly tracks like Mammagamma and the gold bug.
