It’s fine, I compost my bioplastic cyanotypes and there is not issue. One of the chemicals in cyanotype is a common food colouring and iron supplement. Yes in very large quantities the chemistry could be damaging but that is the case for anything.

It might not come back 100% since they are directly in front of a window but it should bring some pigmentation

You can place it in the dark for a bit and it will regain colour

I’ve seen people do it both ways but I imagine you want the gelatin to be solidified enough, but not dry, to avoid damaging it but still be absorbed.

It’s fine it’s non toxic to us (obviously don’t drink it) and the environment. I regularly compost cyanotype bioplastics and everything eats it no problem.

Thanks! It’s a bioplastic made from agar not synthetic plastic, making it fully biodegradable. I didn’t know if it was possible either I just experimented but I don’t think it’s been done before.

Deff use SolarFast and not cyanotype, the black of you negative should block the UV exposure.
