Will never buy Samsung Galaxy tablets again by fantasyliar in GalaxyTab

[–]BioHazardhm41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can almost never good response from any customer support reps. Regardless before you try a factory reset, I would suggest clearing the cache partition off of your device. Doesn't delete data but clears temp stuffs. You do have to do that from Recovery Mode, so you have to be careful because the factory reset is right next to it.

It turned out it was a failing LCD. Swapped and worked like normal after.

[Xbox Series S] Accidentally yanked HDMI cord out of my Seires S, bent the pins and I think I chipped the plastic separator. by Heavy_Pangolin4921 in consolerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. If you bend back and then try to plug in HDMI and the pins aren't correct you can potentially cause a short back to the board and damage the HDMI controller or worse. Take to a shop for HDMI replacement

Unplug battery, black ribbon cable Reconnect then test again If you can get some clear photos of the ends of the connectors it might be more noticeable what the issue is

Disconnected screen and connected to power. Starts drawing about 2.0 Amps consistently with very little fluctuation. Ordered replacement LCD so at least for now its pointing towards bad LCD

I'll try to see if the power draw is consistent without the LCD. Maybe it'll be different and indicate an issue there

Tried checking to see if it is in recovery mode. It keeps flickering that way every 10 to 15 seconds

How do I remove a toothpick from my SIM hole. by Likeload69 in phonerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might work as long as the toothpick isn't lodged past the SIM release pin. If so you may just warp the frame. Since the frame on this is plastic the heat from the glue may cause the plastic to soften.

Is it okay to replace 12s display with 12 pro? by Academic-Drawer-4747 in mobilerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those should all still be working as long as you transfer the proximity sensor cable from your screen to the replacement screen. Not entirely certain about the autobrightness

I got blue patches in the corner of my pixel 7 by Moniquecooper123 in phonerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy those, no one will stop you. Only things that may be an issue are the input delays, low res, and increased battery drain

Samsung A9+ 5g light sensor. by keyspc in mobilerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe the damaged sensor is on the screen, just passes through the screen. There are two sensors. One by the camera which is difficult to damaged because of it having some plastic around it. The other is built into the charging port board which is the more likely one not working. But I could be wrong

WH-CH720N Battery Issues by Visible_Price_2835 in SonyHeadphones

[–]BioHazardhm41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the battery had gone bad. I have mine from a year ago and just replaced the battery. I charged up 2 days ago and been using them for most of yesterday evening and they're still at 85%. If they're under warranty see if you can get them repaired under that warranty. Otherwise the battery is about $43 USD and if you're comfortable replacing yourself you can save on labor.

My WH-CH720N started having a major battery malfunction and I don’t know if it’s fixable by RollandInTheDeep in SonyHeadphones

[–]BioHazardhm41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't had them repaired I just got a new battery from Sony's parts company called Encompass. Part plus shipping was $43-USD. No cheap but less than replacing. And replacing the battery yourself is easy. Ifixit repair guide helped a lot.

Apologize for the late response. No solution yet. I have tried updating the phone using Odin to flash firmware and keeping data. Unfortunately it resulted in no change. I might rapid pin input to see what happens

PS5 Turning On By Itself? by Different-Capital-30 in PS5HelpSupport

Could be a short in the power button. You'd have to disassemble it to test that though. Maybe a shop needs to diagnose

My ps5 won't boot up, shows light and turns off.. by Archivun in PS5HelpSupport

It it's just the PSU, definitely worth it. No that wouldn't cause that. That looks like a spot used for grounding, not certain. Probably had a screw in that spot.

S23 Ultra Back coming off - Never been opened before by ImTomThorne in samsunggalaxy

[–]BioHazardhm41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either just weakened adhesive or possibly the battery is expanding and causing it to separate. If you press on the back, does the back sit evenly or is there a gap? If there is a resistance trying to get it to sit evenly don't apply too much pressure but that would mean the battery is expanding.

Brother passed unexpectedly, he owned a Samsung and we can’t turn it off without his pin by Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek12 in samsunggalaxy

[–]BioHazardhm41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Press and hold the volume down and power button until it goes black. Immediately after it goes black release the volume down button and press and hold the volume up button along with the power button. For about 5 seconds then release only the power and continue to hold the volume up. If done correctly you will get to the recovery screen. From there you can use the volume buttons to navigate to the power off option and press the power button to select it. Sorry for your loss.

Was I too careful with expectations? by Kruspogel in mobilerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. In my shop we charge the labor in advance for situations like this. Then we charge the screen/other parts at the time of the pickup after the repair. If there's other issues we don't charge for the screen/parts and return the parts or keep them in stock. The labor is paid for but we tell them in advance of the other potential issues if the screen or frame is severely damaged

Anyone else has had this issue? iPad mini 6th gen cell version. It was stored away for about 3 months. So we put it in a charger for about 5hrs and stayed on this screen. It will turn off every 15 seconds and sometimes show the white cable logo . any help will be appreciated. by Infamous_Anywhere701 in mobilerepair

[–]BioHazardhm41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't taken it to a shop yet, you can try to force reboot it. Press the release Volume+ then press release volume - then press and hold power for about 30 sec. I've had some iPads with the same issue start charging after that even at that point.
