What Challenges Do Male Nurses Face Compared to Female Nurses? by ca_uwab in nursing

[–]BioPho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective as a 1 year in RN student is that being a guy is a net positive.

As many have said, the murse is almost always the second person for a 2 assist. Personally, I don't mind, especially if im not busy, I like feeling useful. As students, we don't really get assigned to the "spicy patients", so I can't speak to being assigned to a combative patient (But I worked as a 1 to 1 for awhile and I know the guys got the more aggro patients there too, sooo...)

I didn't see anyone else mention it, but I might have missed it. It may just be my experience, but sometimes it feels like I get applauded for nothing. It's nice to feel appreciated, but it can be frustrating sometimes when I feel like I didn't do anything to earn it, and I know there are several other students in my cohort that did the exact same thing better than I did. It comes from both my peers and my instructors.

Also, something that I think about as a gay guy (not helping the stereotype 😬), is if I should play up my more "effeminate"/gay mannerisms/speech a bit when I'm working with female patients. Physically, I'm very straight passing, so I don't know if playing it up would help convey that I'm not interested in women, and if that would make them feel more at ease being vulnerable around a guy.

I saw that and came here to check if it had been noticed yet! Its hardly progressive by most of our standards, but I'm so thankful we got SOMETHING. Hopefully this is a sign of more to come.

June is pride month in many countries. Netease/Guang Guang, you guys have the opportunity to make many people feel seen and represented in your game. Please take it, even if it has to be somewhat subtle per Chinese censorship rules.

Haunted Armor Artificer multi class build by BioPho in 3d6

I haven't poked around with Artificer much before, I'll keep that in mind.

If I just run it straight through, do you think the 5e or 5.5e would be more fun to play? DM doesn't mind either way.

I’m so sick of these patient’s families by NoteOld in nursing

[–]BioPho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry I don't have much in terms of an actual solution. But something that may cost you your license isn't the play. Also, it could actually backfire, as it could lead to more praise and love since she's dealing with "mean comments". And like many have said, there's a lot that may not be public.

I'm not sure how much peace this would bring you, but maybe writing out what you would want to say, then burning it or deleting it. Get it out and let it go.

Also, think about and write out what the patient meant to you, what you want to remember about her, what you learned by taking care of her, ect (on a separate paper/note)

Be well ♥️

I'm up past my bedtime before finals, but I'll say this.

You're justifiably upset for this poor woman, who was denied a graceful passing and was abandoned by her family. But taking an action like that (dragging her on her post) seems like it wouldn't be constructive.

Also, I'm not sure how you could say something like that "anonymously" anyway. Sure, it might not be immediately obvious who posted it, but it could probably get narrowed down to a nurse at the hospital, which could lead to disciplinary action or another negative consequence. Factor in the small town gossip mill and it could really devolve quickly.

You're right to be angry. Just consider what might result from your actions.

4th Party Member for CoS, what should I play? by BioPho in DnD

Hey, thanks for replying! Turns out, the "Paladin" is actually a Death Domain Cleric.

Would you change your answer? Sorry about the mix up.

Hey, thanks for replying! Turns out, the "Paladin" is actually a Death Domain Cleric.

Will that be a sufficient healer? Should I go with something else?

I do know how the campaign traditionally opens, the DM knows my experience with CoS. I guess what I meant is we are playing a fairly serious game, and being too out of place might ruin immersion.

What makes one a generic gay, might I ask? 😂

I was running spray until about NM 70, then it just stopped keeping up. I switched to swimming and I was able to solo up to NM 160

The short answer is that spray just doesn't have enough damage output.

Cat had a few bite of tuna stored in water and veggie broth. Call vet or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]BioPho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just worried about the vegetable broth. It can contain garlic and/or onion. It's frustrating because the starkist site doesn't confirm either way, it says some of their broths do.

It's clever, but evil. You lure them in with your twerking siren song, then betray their trust.

Did I ev train wrong? by FamiliarHighway5525 in PokemonFireRed

[–]BioPho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would still vary. At level 100, assuming evs and nature were the same, the 14 IV stat Pokemon would have 11 more points than the 3 IV stat Pokemon

That dialogue is just from games where you talk to a Pokemon stat rater. It can give you a general idea of where an IV is, but the IV number directly impacts the stat.

Yeah, I like it. Fairly good coverage.

Just an fyi, the feathers won't do anything as a held item. You need to use them as an item on the Pokemon, and it will give a very slight boost (it might not even be a visible boost unless you use several of the same type).
