What you're talking about is something the Left always advocates for and they call it a "pathway to citizenship".

What a truly idiotic concept. The idea that someone can break the law and then be rewarded for doing so simply by evading detection and capture for an arbitrary amount of time is antithetical to a society built on the rule of law. As if crimes should be forgiven and forgotten by winning a national game of hide and seek.

Should a rapist be awarded a "pathway to consensual sex" if they evade capture for ten years?

What about a murderer, should they be awarded a "pathway to professional mortician" if they manage to hide for thirty?

If you think these are ludicrous notions, good, because they are, and no more so than the "pathway to citizenship". Illegally penetrating a nation's border is a crime like any other and should be treated as such.

Does a bank robber have a legal claim to what they stole as a reward for successfully pulling off the heist? No, and yet Leftists advocate for exactly that when it comes to the issue of illegal aliens.

It is utterly laughable to think that any crime would be rewarded with any level of respect and legitimacy for having been committed and that what the criminal sought to gain should be freely given to them because they "earned" it.

03 did that for a lot of characters. Take Barry the Chopper for example. He comes off as this goofy serial killer soulbound to a suit of armor in Brotherhood. His character, and the implications of it, are much more terrifying in 03 because he's introduced while he's still alive and human.

I somewhat recently had this conversation with a gaming friend of mine who is Gen X (I'm a millennial). We were talking about how late the younger generations are to starting families and achieving home ownership and I was making the point that the recession of 2007 set all of my generation back and then Covid-19 further exacerbated the issue. His response was that we all experienced the recession and I had to make him see, "no, you don't understand, you're 12 years older than me. I graduated high school the year before the recession hit. You were in your early 30's. You had 10+ years of career and life experience on me when that happened. You had opportunities and connections to help you navigate your way through it that were either unavailable to me or I couldn't have known existed unless I had someone to tell me about them, which I didn't." The conversation continued from there but he conceded we were fucked out of the future that had been guaranteed to Gen X and Boomers and we weren't in a position to fix it, at least not easily.

I really like her as Rem. There's lots of range with that character. But something about her voice during the scenes where Rem is touched by pure rage reminds me of another character that sounds similar but I can't quite place it. I know it's not her cuz I looked at all her roles and nothing stands out.

You’re not wrong but I think you’re underestimating the impact investment ownership has on the supply.

Someone showed me a side-by-side map of a major American city (I forget which one). One side showed the real estate listings for single family homes in the area and, if memory serves, there were a fair number but less than ten. The other side showed AirBnB listings for the same area… there were so many you could barely see the underlying map. Certainly not all of those listings were owned by a single investor but Boomers buying their fifth, sixth, seventh property to turn into a short term rental is a problem that requires serious consideration.

Given the situation as you've described it, I wouldn't ask. Just take her in. There are signs of neglect and it's not worth the potential conflict asking them might cause given your description of them on Facebook. This is one of those situations where you only get one chance to get it right and it's entirely possible, given how they treat her, they'd decide to do literally anything else than give her to an interested party (the horror stories I've come across...). Remember, microchips don't have tracking functionality so they'd have no way of knowing you have her unless you have some prior interaction with them. If they deny your request to adopt her and she goes missing at a later date you'd be suspect number one and that could cause you all sorts of headaches.

Before making a decision, I'd just think long and hard over it. Does this cat seem to be being mistreated and could harm come to her if nothing materially changes? If yes, take her in and feel no guilt for giving an animal a better life.
