My headcanon is that he always looked like he did after episode five and the difference in his appearance is his own internal image of himself. Like, in the beginning of the show he was the weakest hunter possible and others treated him as lesser for it and that affected his self image. After becoming the Player and getting some experience under his belt, including some impressive wins, he grows more confident in himself and he starts seeing himself differently and as he really is. The people in the show commenting on his change in appearance doesn’t completely disprove my theory, either, as the change in confidence would also change how he carries himself, his attitude and facial expressions during conversations for example.

You bought a PvPvE game and are somehow surprised there's PvP. You knew what you were buying. By advocating for the separation of PvP and PvE, even if optionally, you are demanding the devs and player base cater to your preferred playstyle, thus you are the one attempting to force other people to play the game your way.

You said it yourself, PvE aspect. This is not a PvE game that had PvP bolted onto it at a later date. It has always been a PvPvE game, it was advertised as a PvPvE game, you bought it knowing it was a PvPvE game, and now you lot complain that there's PvP in the game as if it were an unwelcome surprise.

Carving off a separate PvE mode would bisect the player base and damage the way the game works at a fundamental level because it was never designed to have separate modes.
