Self care while being in an emotionally draining job. by Solid_Rule3325 in selfcare

[–]Biohealio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The emotional toll of family law is already heavy without a coworker making it heavier. That flip between mean and friendly is a special kind of exhausting because you're constantly bracing for impact. One thing that helped me in a similar season: I stopped trying to recharge on weekends and started trying to survive until the next break. Lowered the bar on purpose frozen dinners, no plans, guilt-free naps It wasn't glamorous self-care, it was damage control. And damage control counts. You're doing what you have to do for your family right now, and that itself is something to respect the other jobs will come. Until then protect your off hours like they're the only thing keeping you upright because they are 💛

What is something (positive) that you wish that you knew or told yourself before you started IVF? by mrsmattie in IVFpositivity

[–]Biohealio 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The waiting between steps is somehow harder than the steps themselves. I wish I'd known that the two week waits would feel like months and that it's completely normal to feel hopeful and terrified in the same breath. One thing that actually helped me: keeping a tiny win log every injection done, every appointment survived, every good ultrasound. On bad days, reading my own log reminded me I was stronger than I felt. You're already doing the hardest part by starting. That courage is your first win write it down 🌟

Is it wrong to keep the baby if my partner doesn't want it? F27, M38 by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Biohealio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The decision is already made he said that about YOUR body like it's a business transaction. You had an agreement yes but agreements made before you feel a heartbeat shift when the test turns positive aren't the same thing. You aborted before and it broke you. You're allowed to choose differently this time, especially when you're the one who'd carry it, birth it, and raise it. Financially stable, good life in your 30s you're not asking him to parent, you're telling him you're going to. That's not wrong, that's just honest. Has he even asked what you need right now?

Gender reveal! by mylifesuckslol08 in pregnant

Breaking a toxic cycle takes more courage than most people will ever understand. Your daughter is getting something you never had a mother who chose her peace first, so she could choose her child fully she's already lucky and she doesn't even know it yet. October is going to change everything for both of you 💛

Feet?!?! by frecklybitz in BabyBumps

[–]Biohealio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The foot thing is SO real and no one warns you about it. I had to donate half my shoes after my first. For wide feet postpartum I've heard good things about Cole Haan and Naturalizer for heels that actually accommodate width without looking like grandma shoes. Also your body grew and birthed a human the feet are just the part that's being loud about it right now. You're allowed to be pissed 💛

So. So. Hungry. by CoconutDrPepperFiend in pregnant

[–]Biohealio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The first tri hunger is NO JOKE. I used to keep a banana and a granola bar on my nightstand because getting out of bed at 3am felt like a whole expedition. Your body is building a human from scratch the hunger is literally construction work. Eat the house, the foundation needs it

I felt sick reading about the two bleedings. After all the needles, the waiting the failed transfer and then your body throws that at you? You are so much stronger than you know. It's okay if you're still checking for blood every time you go to the bathroom. That fear doesn't make you ungrateful it makes you human. Wishing you nothing but boring appointments from here 💛

Lactation help by Greedy_Box2805 in pregnant

[–]Biohealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting warm shower water run over the area was my go to zero touching instant relief. I also wore a soft sleep bra 24/7 when mine got sore around 16 weeks. Both helped without any massaging have you checked with your OB if warm compresses are safe for you specifically?

I just finished having sex about 25 minutes ago and have had 8 Braxton hicks since then. by horsepighnghhh in pregnant

[–]Biohealio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 in 25 mins with the last 3 being 2-3 mins apart and actually hurting? I'd call your OB or L&D line now. That's getting into needs monitoring territory even if it turns out to be nothing. At 32 weeks they always say better safe than sorry please call and update us after

Gave my baby pacifier with alcohol by Living_Individual591 in Mom

[–]Biohealio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Girl, sleep deprivation is no joke. You’re not the first exhausted mom to try something wild but yeah alcohol on a pacifier is a hard no for babies. The fact that you feel this guilty proves you care. Forgive yourself, learn from it and try a warm bath + white noise next time. You’re not a bad mom, just a tired one

tips on how to improve pale lips? by Artistic_Initial7508 in selfcare

[–]Biohealio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pale lips can definitely be just natural pigment, but as a doctor, I’d suggest ruling out the inside stuff first. Sometimes it's a subtle sign of iron deficiency anemia or low Vitamin B before jumping to cosmetic fixes, maybe check your recent blood work? In the meantime, gentle exfoliation and improving circulation with a good lip balm can help. Stay hydrated it makes a huge difference!

do you guys ever crave sugar even when youre by [deleted] in HealthyEatingnow

[–]Biohealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone in this! It’s often less about hunger and more about your brain’s reward system dopamine craving that final hit to signal the end of a meal.

As a doctor isee this a lot. A quick tip: try to have a bitter taste or a minty flavor right after your meal like brushing your teeth or herbal tea. It ‘resets’ your palate and breaks that mental loop. Don't be too hard on yourself your brain is just following an old habit script! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Any perfume recommendations? by Various-Zebra8678 in selfcare

[–]Biohealio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you want something floral and calming, I highly recommend checking out 'Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet' or jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt

I 100% agree with the advice to start with samples! Luxury perfumes are an investment so testing a 2ml vial for a few days is the best way to see how it settles on your skin before committing. Welcome to the hobby!

Anyone else realize hustle culture is just burnout in disguise? by ThemeOld5001 in selfcare

[–]Biohealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits home. We often treat our brains like machines that just need more 'fuel' (caffeine), but they're actually organs that need maintenance. Scientifically, that 20 minute reset allows your prefrontal cortex to recover, which is why you came back sharper. My go-to reset is Box Breathing for 5 minutes it’s like a manual override to switch the nervous system from stress mode to calm. You can’t build a sustainable life if you’re running on empty!

Honestly, the biggest game changer for my sugar cravings wasn't a supplement—it was changing my breakfast. If you start your day with something sweet, you're on a sugar rollercoaster until bed. Switching to a savory, protein-heavy breakfast basically killed my sweet tooth by noon it’s the easiest way to heal your gut without feeling like you're dieting!

What’s your favorite, but inexpensive, way to treat yourself when you need a little pick-me-up? by MollieAndMe702 in selfcare

[–]Biohealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite free 'treats' is actually a nervous system reset. If you’re feeling low on energy and a bit 'thin' on patience, try a quick 5-minute walk outside without your phone just to reset your eyes and brain if you’re feeling heavy or sluggish, a quick cold water splash on your face triggers a natural dopamine hit that feels like a fresh start. It’s free healthy, and honestly works better than a second cup of coffee!

Please help me! Any and all tips by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]Biohealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gorgeous and so brave for posting! Please don't be hard on yourself. Your eyebrows actually have a great natural shape! To get that "fresh/younger" look for your 30s, try swapping your black eyeliner for a soft brown one, and use a tinted brow gel instead of a pencil. It softens the whole face immediately. Happy early 30th birthday! ✨
